Did you guys hear about this....Sammy Sosa gets ejected from todays game for corking his bat...what an idiot! im a st louis fan from the birth but i always respected sosa and then he tries pullin som'n like this. the guys a future hall of famer w/ his numbers right now and he goes and does something like this which is going to taint his career forever....no ones going to care about the home run race w/ big mac ....they are going to say ya he hit that many dingers because he put a little magic in the end of his bat. way to go sammy..... we all make mistakes i know but this is pretty dumb .....especially in this day and age where bats are busting every inning.

Just read the story on espn.com - Sosa stated he uses corked bats for BP only - to put on a show. The league security took away all his bats. Guess we will see what all of his bats have on the inside.

I also have been a Cardinal fan from birth - grew up in IL, just a bit south of STL on Route 3.

I'm a big Cubs fan and this is real disappointing. I just hope it turns out like he says and it doesn't ruin his reputation forever. the Cubs are doing so well too... oh the humanity!! We could have made it to the semi finals!!! I guess hell isn't freezing over this year either.

Yeah, what a shame. If he did it on purpose then that was pretty stupid. If it was accidental, and he just grabbed the wrong bat like he claimed...well then that's still pretty stupid.

I'm not a Cubs fan, but I wouldn't count them out yet. They have a great pitching staff, and they were playing well without Sosa when he was out with the injury. Even if he has a lengthy suspension they can continue to win games if they don't allow it to become a huge distraction. Dusty Baker's a great manager so he should be able to keep the team focused.

i always liked sosa i thought he was a class act....hopefully it was just a mistake because thatd be a big black mark on baseball.

I don't really follow baseball much but i think it does take way from the sport when somebody does something like that. More so when it is a big name like Sosa.

It leaves a mark on any sport when a respected player gets caught doing something stupid.
