Problems, Questions and Feedback

Thanks to everyone for their patience while I upgraded Reefland.com to the new forum software.

The upgrade included the latest version of the forum software and an upgrade of all Reefland.com pages to include the forum functionality. As expected, the upgrade went very smooth and I do not anticipate any problems.

There are quite a few new features available to you now so be sure to check out your User Control Panel and browse through the various options. One of the nicer features is a WYSIWYG postiing editor (you must enable the feature in your profile) making it a lot easier to format your posts. Another great addition is the ability to post multiple attachments to one post.

If you experience any problems, please post in this thread and include any errors, error messages and applicable URL's if applicable.

Thanks again and enjoy,
Scott Z.

I really like the new look scott, but I was wondering if there was a way to make the thread subscription as no subscription by default instead of having to change it every time. I like hearing about some threads but sometimes it gets too be too much. Also can we get more smilies

Henry

Hi Henry!

That is interesting, I just posted the question to the VB developers to see what they say. I checked my User CP and even though I have E-mail Notification by default selected to No, the Instant Notification is the default selection in the drop down box. For now you'll have to change the option for each post until they come up with soemthing.

Another option is to monitor your Subscriptions Page:
http://www.reefland.com/forum/subscr...ewsubscription
And remove them often.

Thanks,
Scott Z.

Ok, here is the deal Henry.

If you go to your profile and edit your options to not use e-mail notification by default:
http://www.reefland.com/forum/profil...do=editoptions

New threads that you post will have No Subscription selected in the drop down menu below the text box that you type your post; same thing oes for threads you reply to.

However if you post to a thread that you have already posted to and choosen a subscription method, that same subscription method orginally used will be default. If you want to change your subscription, you can do so with your new reply.

I hope this helps,
Scott Z.

Scott,

For some odd reason I do not recieve any notification of new posts to the subscribed threads.I did checked my CP to make sure that checkmark is still there. I did recieve some couple of days ago but none since, plus they were a bit late
Can you give me an idea where to look to correct this problem?

Gene,

I have been looking into this for a couple of days now. Ninong brought it to my attention that he was receiving some late ones as well. As soon as I find something out, I'll let you know.

Thanks for the feedback,
Scott

I got it while I was in the middle of dealing with a leaking bulkhead on my 1" return. I was extremely distraught at the moment, as Scott will verify.

You were calling my attention to a particular thread but I didn't have time to add anything to the discussion at the moment and then later on I saw that others had stepped in and offered their assistance.

Hey Ninong, does it mean you're setting up that IA tank ? Oh boy, I hope you are and hope as well that pics will follow. I'm also glad that you're feeling better and sharing your wisdomwith us
Leaky bulkheads is something I'm very familiar with , it never failed to leak on a first try for me yet...

Yes, the 120-gal Starphire tank will be up soon. I ordered some Crystal Sea Marinemix Bioassay Formula salt and it was just shipped today from Baltimore. It's scheduled to arrive Monday, June 30th. I figured I might as well go with CS-Bio from the get-go so that I won't run the risk of having problems down the road switching from Instant Ocean to CS.

Once it's all completely set up, I'll take some pics with my sister's digital camera and post them before I order the live rock and live sand. I have 200-lbs of Southdown for a base but I expect to add at least a box of Fiji live sand on top of that. I want to make sure I get it fresh directly from Fiji via Walt Smith's L.A. facility. I'm shooting for a sandbed depth of 14 cm (5.5"). I think I will probably need about 300-lbs of sand total to achieve that depth in my tank -- 45"L x 23"W x 27.5"H.

That is a good news,Ninong. FWIW, I switched to CS salt about a month or so ago and had absolutely no issues with bleaching. If anything, my rose bta split into three after about two water changes. It might be coinsidental, but I hope not becouse I truly believe that it is a better salt. Glad that you using it from the get go, I'm sure you'll take some notes as to how everything is doing and it will be interesting to see if it does make a difference in reproduction activities of coral and other inverts. Don't forget the pcs

I'll post pics once the tank is fully set up just before I put in the live rock. It will be an interesting setup with a couple of surprises.
