I just checked. You first posted to this thread 3 hrs, 14 min ago. Maybe you will receive a notification soon. I seem to be getting them after about 2 hours now but the first ones this morning were delayed more than 4 hours.

P.S. -- I guess we should count from the time of the first post after your post, which would make it 2 hrs, 50 min now.

Just received another notification, the one telling me that Henry had joined the thread. It took exactly 2 hours to reach me. But even that is off. It took 2 hours from the time the board finally sent it out, but it took more than 3 hours from the time Henry posted to this thread.

Looks like it's working I've been getting notification so far. Good job Scott. I don't know if anyones said this but I do like the new look since the upgrade. The new features are pretty cool too... but we need more smilies Gene's got plenty I'm sure he'll hook you up

Thanks Henry, although it isn't fixed, only marginally sending out e-mails on a delayed basis. We'll get it working though, atleast the problem has been positively identified.

Yeah I need to work with Gene and get some more smilies for you folks, I know how much you like them.

Yes, it relates. I got one from the 13th. and two from the 15th., all three received on the 30th.

Of course, I didn't know about it until just after midnight on the 30th. because my internet service went out Sunday afternoon and then my power went out Monday afternoon during Tropical Storm Bob.

We took a direct hit. Thank goodness it was not a hurricane but we did get continuous 50 mph winds that really blew pretty loud and non-stop heavy, heavy rain for several hours. The eye passed over us at about 7:30 p.m. and then the back wall hit about 25 minutes later but there wasn't much on the backside. It must have been moving pretty fast at that point because we were done with the serious wind and rain within another 45 minutes. We lost our power just before 6 p.m. and got it back just after midnight.

I am glad to hear that you guys made it through ok. I was thinking about it when I saw it was making land.

Yep, we made it OK. We lost our power for 6-1/2 hours though. When the eye passed over us, I called my friends in California so that they could turn on the national weather channel for me so that I could hear the weather news. I told them exactly where we would be on the map and they confirmed that we were indeed in the eye at that moment.

I was just looking at the weather and it appears to be weakening; winds of 35mph right now. Now we get to look forward to several days of rain from the storm starting 7-1 in the afternoon. I think they are forecasting rain for us through Saturday. We just got through a very wet period with nearly 10 days straight rain. Hopefully it will dry up enough for the 4th.

We had a relatively dry March and April but then we got a total of about 20" in June. I'm not sure what we got here at the house during the storm but I would guess it was around 7" or so. Biloxi got 12".
