Smile How to shrink the picture size?

Alright boys and girls I have a question for you. How do you make the pictures smaller so that when I open them they don't take up 1 1/2 of the screen. I just got a digital camera so I'm a bit nieve to the whole cropping and file size shrinking tricks... I think I made that last one up. Anyways any help would be appreciated.

Henry

Hey Henry!

What kind of programs do you have; do you have Microsoft Photo Editor or maybe Adobe Photoshop? Basically all your wanting to do is open the image up in an editor and modify the image size, I usually use 600px x 453px.

Besides those that Scott had mentioned the cameras usually come with their own software that is capable of resizing your pics(sometimes they call it web ready or tumbnails). For instance,my Nikon cp-885 came with the nikonview software that allows me to upload pics from my camera via USB and then edit, resize and many other tricks. I however prefer ACDsee 6.0 version and feel that it is easier to use then the Nikons software.

I use my sofware from Kodak. It was my first digital. Works fine with my Sony.

Thanks guys, I am using iphoto right now, it came with my ibook. it works pretty well I'll see if it has a function to shrink the pictures down. I also have software that came with my camera it's a canon s230, but the software isn't the most user friendly so I'll have to play with it. Thanks again.

If you can't find it use the help feature and look up Resize Image or Image Size, you'll definately find something. Looking forward to some photos!

Well I can give you some pictures of NY, but as for the tank that didn't make the trip all the way up here. I ended up dismantling it and giving the contents away to friends, I still have most of the equipment back home so when I finally do get out of school I can do it all over However, I would have set up a nano up here but I'm planning on moving once my lease is up so I am going to wait. I will barage everyone with pics of NY though so not to worry.
