I've always like pictures WITHOUT flash when its possible... You can see the dimension in the pictures without flash, where with everything appears flat. Especially in the last 2 photos you posted. The one with looks very 2 dimensional and the one without looks alot closer to 3D especially in the shadows.
BTW flowers are my other favorite picture subject, they don't complain much!!! but overall I'd say you are doing very well. Here are a couple of my favorites!!! Last edited by Poseidon; 12-25-2003 at 10:53 PM. |

I can only take good pics of dogs. Like Poseidon says, the trick in taking good photos is by not using direct flash ie dont use the flash thats attached to your camera directly. Using the flash directly will cause red eye and other color distortions, whereas if the flash originates from a different angle yo will achieve amazing pics and color. The way to do that is usually with some kind of studio lighting.
Now here comes the screwed up part. Although I take amazing pics in the studio when it comes to taking pics with a digicam - I SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So Zhenia, never ever listen or follow my suggestion when it comes to digital cameras. Poseidon - You take some nice pics man. BTW - MERRY CHRISTMAS! Herman |

I totally agree, that Clematis shot is amazing Mike, I understand about the flash and almost never use it becouse I don't have a separate flash and the one on the camera is plain miserable and interferes alot, there is only one shot posted with the flash.I also had discovered that my camera does have a feature when if not enough light is present for a camera to focus it emits some from the spot right next to the flash(I'm not sure if you remember but we talked about this in one of the threads). Thanks, everyone, for comments ![]()
