I just checked my email and the last I heard from Joaco was in February. Looks like I haven't heard from him in over two months now.Originally Posted by MEC
He moved his office from downtown Buenos Aires to the suburbs and he moved himself and his family to the suburbs as well. He is renting now while his new home is under construction. That was the last I heard back in February when I shipped him some instruments he asked me to order. As far as I know he is still building the two 630-gal tanks in the new house, which I told him reminded me of a medical office building -- too boxy and too much glass.![]()
I guess I will be forced to send him a link to this thread just to see what the latest stories are from the land of the bandidos.

You don't wanna know. It got worse. Since April, I suffered not one but two kidnapping attempts. Got away in one piece, no shots fired, no property damage either. Since then, I took a few more security meassures that I can't discuss in a public forum (no, they don't include hand grenades so farWhats the latest on Argentina???? Mike)
Right now I'm in Europe on business trip, I'm typing from Copenhagen, Denmark, have to catch a flight to Oslo, Norway, in a few minutes (I'm at the gate already).
just wanted to send a short line telling you guys that I'm ok, and with more time (when I return to Argie I think) I will tell you guys more.
take care everyone, see you soon! (pics of the new house in cosntruction will be posted as well. you should see the filter room and huge tanks!)

Pics on the way when I return to Argie.
Downtown BA is hell. I'm just so happy I moved out of it. I only see the riots on TV now.just to see what the latest stories are from the land of the bandidos.

Downside is, outside of downtown it's Disneyland for the kidnappers. Will tell you more when I get back from Europe, I also have a few interesting pics....![]()
It feels strange walking in Europe, without the added weight of the Glock, mags, backup gun, etc, etc(yes, sad but true)
Joaco

Just curious Joaco....have you field tested the glock model 23 yet? That's the .40 caliber with a few extra goodies on it ;;. I personally own this model and have sent over 2000 rounds down range with it. Very nice gun tried and true by special ops around the world.
Keep your heart pure conceive your own dreams
Respect your fellow man the earth and the trees.
Welcome back Joaco... Hope all is okay, and I would love to see those PICS!!!
great to here from you again!! Enjoy the eoropean trip, and dont forget to visit all those "houses"in Copenhagen.
Sure youll have a story or two to tell.....Mike

Yes, mine has Tritium Meprolight sights on it, plus a M6 attached to the rails. The whole thingy already paid for itself...saved my life more than once.
I put 200 rounds through it every weekened with my bodyguard (on the range, pics to follow), plus about 100 a month on the CQB drills with Simunition. My bodyguard carries a Glock 17 (9 mm)...in fact, he bugged me till I changed my former gun for a Glock. What-a-gun!
The one with the cammo pants is my bodyguard, the other guy is myself (remember there is a level IIIA vest under that green windbreaker!Originally Posted by Joaco

Ok, here is the concrete base of the reef that will be viewed from 3 sides.
Size: 7 feet (front) x 5 feet (wide) x 3 feet (tall)
The guy on the pics is the architect.
To have an idea, it will look more less in size like the Penn State reef:Originally Posted by Joaco

but aquascaped taking in mind that it will be fully viewed from 3 sides, like a big cube (that back goes against the filter room)
Here is another pic of the base of that tank, the guy you see in the pics is in the filter room, behind the tank base.
That reef will have 4 skylights over it (each 2 feet by 2 feet), but the main light source will still be MHs, on the first pic you can see them over the tank base, on the second you can see a closeup (they are covered on the pic, so that it doesn´t rain into the houseOriginally Posted by Joaco

another pic with people next to the concrete base of the reef.Originally Posted by Joaco
WOW!!! I can't imagine having TWO 630 reef tanks!! Are you going to have several Employees help you with maintenance??? LOL
On a side note, it must be incredibly stressful to have to take a Body guard (armed) and arm yourself just to feel safe. I wish you my best, and hopefully no more "field testing" to be required!!!
ok, pics of the second reef concrete base.Originally Posted by Ninong
This tank will be 11 feet (front) x 3.5 feet (wide) x 3 feet (tall) . You can see part of the filter room behind it (more pics of that soon)
Just a little bigger than Nathan Paden´s:

and than the one at the Seneca Park Zoo:

The guy on the pic is the architect again. He still thinks I´m a beer short in my six pack, but at least now he laughs about it (not in my face anylonger)
On this pics you can see the base of both tanks, between both there is another concrete base with a catwalk that goes behind both, so I can walk behind both tanks with their bases at foot level, like for example at Steve Weast´s reef:Originally Posted by Joaco
