The Vice-President of the United States...
...will be holding the hand of the President of the United States when they make their joint appearance before the 9/11 Commission today. This is the only "joint appearance" scheduled before the Commission. Former President Clinton and former Vice-President Gore appeared on separate days.
What's that? You wanted to know why the President and the Vice-President are appearing together? For the same reason that Edgar Bergen and Charlie McCarthy always appeared together.
