Took a trip to the Nature today...to my garden, while playing with my granddaughter and took some pics of the flowers.Hope you enjoy them as much as I did.I know this is not reef related but I figured I'd break it up a bit ;)

I'm only 22 but and I become wrapped up in my little world however I always take the time to appreciate such things. Beautiful flowers Zhenya.
Thank you!
I agree, sometimes taking time and apreciate thing that are around us helps me tremendously, especially when I feel depressed ;)
Here's a close up pic of one of the flowers that makes me think of many things but none in particular, if you know what I mean![]()
Kind regards,
Gene.

We're on the same page as far as I'm concerned literally and figuratively.
Wow, those are gorgeous, thanks for sharing... I am still waiting for my lilies to bloom..... and my balloon flowers too for that matter... tho my balloon flowers are blue... where did you find purple ones? They're very pretty! Maybe I will get off my butt and find my digital cam (find being the operative word here) and post some pics of my garden, and of my tanks for that matter. *P.S. You forgot to post a pic of the prettiest flower... the one that was walking in the garden with you*
Oops, you are right I should have posted picture of the prettiest flower that was present in the garden
And couple more pics of the flowers,so not to stray off the subject ;)
Kind regards,
Gene.

Awesome Colors Gene.... Try and use a smaller F-stop value next time, you will get a very pleasing "Bokeh" like this...
Hope you don't mind me posting 1 of my own here...

Sueet,
I don't do much gardening anymore, unfortunately, whatever I planted long ago just keeps coming back and blooming every year![]()

Mike,
If you return to this thread,I tried taking pics with the smallest f-stop and the smallest ISO on the camera(100).Check it out if you can and tell me what you think,is it any better?
Kind regards,
Gene.

Yes Gene.... I like the first one of that series the best. The second one has a distracting background though. Maybe the same flower from another angle? Notice how the background being out of focus directs your eye to the intended subject, with the second picture all the lines in the tile distract and pull your eye away from the flower...
Thanks,Mike! I see your point now that you mention it, composition is definately something I need to work on alotOriginally Posted by Poseidon

I do have a different angle of the same flower but I'm not sure it is any better.

Still beautiful.
I caught a couple of good pictures today and this evening that I thought about sharing in this thread but as I look at the pictures already posted, mine are kind of shabby. I've attached them anyway.![]()
Where is that sunset?
Oh! To have such "shabby" sunsets would I almost give away the world! If those photos are shabby, then I know not how you managed to catch your breath long enough to snap the camera! Beautiful...... Just Beautiful...Originally Posted by Reefland

Nice pics guys.![]()

Thats Better Gene... Next thing is to lower the camera! I was almost laying down when I took that picture I posted. You can use the rest of the plant itself for the background most of the time, you just need to find the right perspective.
And Scott that is a great sunset shot...Amazing color that can be produced that time of day huh? Here is one from my backyard:
