This forum has been really great for the time that I have been reading it, but starting today, I seem to have a problem...
The little "checkmark" things, that show whether a certain forum has new posts in it, is not staying marked for me... Well, it does... as long as I don't close my browser. As soon as I close my browser, if I re-open it, and load this site, all the messages that are new for today are again highlighted and bold as if I haven't read them at all... when in fact I have clicked those pages at least 10 times each trying to get them to "Stay" fixed... As far as I know, I haven't changed any settings in my computer, although in my efforts to fix this, I DID add the website address here to "always accept" for cookies..... What else can I do? I also did reboot.. not sure what else to try I know it seems silly to worry about it, but that's a nice little feature, and it is ticking me off that it was working fine, and now it isn't! Any suggestions are more than welcome! |

Sueet,
The New Post indicators are valid for 1 hour or until you close your browser. To clarify, if you read the threads and keep the browser open for 1 hour, they will not come on. However if you read the thread and then close the browser and open it back up within 1 hour, the new post indicators will show again. The "Mark Read" function with the software is marked for improvements in future versions, but at this time, it is the best it is going to be. For a fix, when you are done reading the threads before you exit the site you can click the link "Mark Read" in the blue bar at the bottom of the forum list or you can use this link: http://www.reefland.com/forum/forumd...hp?do=markread Scott Z. |

If you read a thread, close the browser or leave the site and then revisit within 1 hour, it will still show the thread as not being read unless you use the mark all threads read option that I posted above. If you remain on the site for more than 1 hour, it will not return unless there is in fact a new thread or post.
