I don't know. Right now Rove is busy making sure they have 50 votes in the Senate to confirm Bolton. He guaranteed that Bolton would be confirmed a few weeks ago. And besides that I'm sure he's a bit worried about all the recent outings of prominent anti-gay Republicans as hypocritical gays themselves. Some things hit just a little too close to home for comfort.

I just came across the following this morning and I don't want to open a new thread, so I'll stick it in here:

"Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes you can do these things. Among them are [a] few other Texas oil millionaires, and an occasional politician or business man from other areas. Their number is negligible and they are stupid."
- President Dwight D. Eisenhower, 11/8/54

President Bush, a Texas oil millionaire, is trying to abolish social security as we know it, starve unemployment programs, weaken labor laws, and gut rural/farm programs. In light of this appalling record, let's hope Ike was right about his party's future.

Pakistan: U.S. blew undercover operation
Al-Qaida suspect was secretly cooperating with counterrorist sting

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - The al-Qaida suspect named by U.S. officials as the source of information that led to this week’s terrorist alerts was working undercover, Pakistani intelligence sources said Friday, putting an end to the sting operation and forcing Pakistan to hide the man in a secret location.

Remember when our government blew the cover of an al-Qaida double agent who was working undercover? Remember how outraged the Pakistani Intelligence Service was? Remember how really upset the Brits were because they had to go on a high-speed car chase to try to round up all the suspects they were watching thanks to information provided by this double agent? Remember how the Brits said they were afraid that they may not have gotten all of them?

Well, they didn't. The ones they missed are the ones who blew up the tube last week. The al-Qaida computer wiz in Lahore that the Pakis had flipped was an associate of the group who bombed London last week.

Too bad we blew his cover. No telling how many bad guys we might have been able to round up if we had only allowed him to continue to operate as a snitch for us. What a shame.

You should reread the above story from 11 months ago first before going to this new story: http://americablog.blogspot.com/2005...sible-for.html

What is it about this administration with blowing the cover of undercover agents? Why do they hate our freedom? Why do they hate our troops? Who do they hate America?

I don't know but then I'm not Karl Rove. Ask him. I would say ask poor Tom Ridge but I sort of feel sorry for him because he has admitted that most of the elevated terror alerts that were issued were issued over his objections. The orders, according to former Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge, were often based on political considerations.
