WOW!!! WHat a great story... Expensive food, but I am sure the MB aquarium is more then happy to put out the $20 a pound, to get the $20 EACH adult ticket!!! If I could make the trip out there, I sure would go see her though!!!

Yes, they do feed her salmon filets, but I have no idea where that figure of $20/lb came from. That seems hard to believe unless they are buying it from the Sardine Factory: http://www.sardinefactory.com/home/

Views from Rocky Point (slide show): http://www.rocky-point.com/slide_show.htm Sometimes we drive all the way down here: http://www.nepenthebigsur.com/ Rocky Point is cheaper because they have a kids' menu and it was just me and my two godsons, who were 8 & 12 then. Here's a little secret: The food on the kids' menu is identical to the food on the regular menu, same size portions, just cheaper prices. If you bring binoculars, you can watch for whales at either place. Don't forget, I lived in Monterey in 1980 & '81, so I'm quite familiar with the area.

Poseidon,
Did you notice on the Nepenthe Restaurant link that they have a live cam? Check it out right now! http://www.nepenthebigsur.com/ Click on "View & weather" on the left side of the page; then you have to click on AccuWeather if you want the current temp. It's a balmy 59 F, feels like 60 F. Clear, sunny, and notice the GREEN trees! P.S. -- I just figured someone who lives where you do would appreciate that view right now! ![]()

Wow! The picture I posted is changing live! Every time I refresh, I get a new view with different people looking out over the railing. I guess that means that if we keep checking back we will get to see the sunset! (BTW, that restaurant is about 800-ft above the ocean!)
