Importing files from Win98se to WinXP?

I bought a new computer installed w/ WinXP and want to import files from Win98SE (old computer) to my new computer winXP. Can I import my whole favorite links to Internet Explorer? If so how? Also I want to import my email addys too and want to know if there is an easy way to do this. I will also add that the new computer has Norton AV as well as McAfee AV, and a firewall and want to do this all as secure as possible and plan to scan everything b4 transfering.

Burn these files to a disc and then move them perhaps?

Take the burned Disk and put it in your CD/DVD drive. Then (after clicking NO or Cancel on any menus that pop up) browse for it in windows explorer (NOT Internet Explorer). When you find your favorites on the CD drag and drop (or copy and paste) them to C: Documents and settings/user name/favorites. Where C: is your hard drive (should be C in most cases) and User name is the name you set up in XP for yourself. For example my wife and I have different user names and thus different favorites. Close all windows and open Internet Explorer. Check your Favorites and they should all be there.

If alll your favorites are there go download Mozilla Firefox. It is a faster, more secure browser. After it is installed and you try to open it it will ask to import the IE settings. You will still need IE for Windows Updates though.

If you have any questions about XP please let me know. If I knew as much about Reefs as I know about Computers Dr. Ron would be working for me (well not really but it was a good analogy).
