Where I've been...
It all started when I bought my first BMW in like 8 years.
a 1984 633 CSi Then I bought a 1987 M6 THen I sold the 633 then I bought a 1989 325i sedan that needed an engine. (kept the M6 - can't sell that one) I've been mostly living; breathing, cars. Took my M6 around the track at the Barber Motor sports park one weekend in July with an instructor (more fun than any Grown man should be allowed to have with his clothes one) and put the engine back together in the 325 (it runs like a champ now) Haven't had any fish in the 30 gallon for quite some time - the amphis; Crabs and chitons (breeding colony now) are quite happy about that. still got the 14+ year old clown loach (Botia Macrantha) in the 55 gallon Fresh. (he's the only one - he's outlived everything else.) Was gonna break down the 55 and turn it into salt - but I can't get rid of a fish that I can literally feed from my hand. Was gonna break down the 30 and give the LR to a friend with a 56 tub - but coming back here has me inspired.... By the way - I'm engaged to be married - date is August 20 of this year. Good to be back- -John-

Hey John,
Sounds like you have a great new hobby...but don't ever leave this one, it's too much fun too. ![]() Congratulations on the engagement, are we all invited to the wedding? Would the bride have a problem with a bunch of people showing up that smelt like fish and skimmate? ![]() |

Is the loach too big to put in the 30g and make the 55g reef or FOWLR? Glad your back ![]()

That was an original plan - I had found a guy with a nice 110 gallon FW - planted with a colony of about 4-5 clown loaches and some other nice fish - but he broke up with his boyfriend and disappeared - Even my Brother in law who was old friends with him can't find him..
(he had a 180 with nothing in it too... :Sigh: ) long story short - i was going to give Lazarus (that's my loaches name) to Glenn (that's guy diappeared guys name) since tank is bigger; planted; etc.. but as mentioned - he disappeared.. I can't give LAz away to just anybody - after 13-14 years - he's part of the family. I might actually cry if he ever dies... but he's in the order of catfish; (loach family of course) so maybe he'll outlive me even.. but yes - he's too big to stick into the 30 gallon - (it's a 30 high) - and it's just since I posted on here the other day that i decided not to get rid of the SW tank altogether - so I've only just begun to think about my options.. My house is kind of small - so floor space is a premium - but I may get a new 30 high (this ones' been in service for over 10 years - it's time to replace it) and stick a drilled 10 gallon on top for a refugium/top sump design; or I may get a 30 long - Either way I've got to get rid of some of the LR in tha tank - it's chock full of probably 40-50 lbs of old tonga; fiji.. Still looks pretty good too - hell - there's a 3 year old blue legged hermit in there.. only higher order animal left - Amphi's and Chitons; some worms - They love it.. so i've only begun to think about designing a new tank set up... If I get motivated I'll post some pics in a week or so.....
