Putting Douglas Smith in charge of training the scout leaders and parents how to keep their children safe from people like him is like hiring the hackers to design your company's computer security.

I heard about this on the morning news as well. INCREDIBLE...

Part of the Boy Scouts statement mentioned that none of the porn was found on "official" Boy Scout PCs or laptops. BIG FREAKIN DEAL... Also, they tried to justify that he wasn't in a position where he had direct contact with children. Again -- So WHAT??

So a 17 year old New Jersey kid who has been in scouting his whole life, becomes an Eagle Scout, is regarded across the board as an exemplary Scout can't stay in Scouting (even after pushing his case thru the courts) once he admits he's gay, but a pedophile can be in charge of the Youth Protection Task Force.

THis guy should certainly " be gone" and prosecuted accordingly. I doubt the boy scouts knew he was a child pornographer - I assume they did not know- - I hope they did not know. However, the "Boy Scouts organization" certainly has a right to exclude gays or whom ever they wish from their club- it is a private orgainization, no different that many womans or mens orgainizations that excludes the opposite sex or any other private group that excludes whom ever they wish. I don't really see why they have choosen this policy as there is no relationship between scouting and sexual preference, but they ( the boy scouts of america) have the "right to choose".

AND He's pleaded Guillty....

He bought, images over the internet and sent them on to others, but did not sell them to others.

He faces 5 - 20 in federal prison and will be sentenced in July.
