Arrow It's that time of year again, time to...

CLUB THE BABY HARP SEALS!

This always gets me upset and almost every year I post about it: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/articl...i121422S30.DTL

I wish they wouldn't do that. I wonder if that's a moral judgment on my part? If so, is it covered by "moral absolutism" or relativism? I think it should at least be mentioned somewhere. I think this is one of those things that you just know is wrong. You don't really have to think about it. You just know it. Anyone who has to think about it probably needs a mental health exam.

OK, time for me to run out and hug a tree now.

Nothing wrong with hugging trees. I can't disagree more with this practice. Just wrong imo.

Ever see the film "Say Goodbye"??? We were shown it in school, so I guess it way Elementary School (maybe Jr High). Not sure who put it out -- maybe Greenpeace. It chronicled several instances of wildlife "harvesting". BY FAR the most desturbing bit was the baby harp seals. I still have very vivid memories of the film, too.

Don't get me wrong.. I'm not a PETA member or anything like that... I wear leather. I even like fur. Ranched/farmed mink or whatever is OK by me. But that's different from this in a BIG way..
