A county Republican chairman in Florida (where else!) is suing fellow Republicans for defamation because they sent out a letter falsely claiming that he had been married six times. He asserts that this defamation resulted in his not being elected Florida State Chairman of the Republican Party.
"That's unconscionable," Seminole County Republican Party Chairman Jim Stelling said Tuesday in the trial over his defamation suit. "I believe in family values." What's that? You wanted to know how many times this "Sanctity of Marriage," "Family Values," Republican county chairman has been married? He has only been married FIVE times! No wonder he is so outraged at their unconscionable false accusations! http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,156233,00.html

He's suing them for defamation because as every good "family values" Republican knows, six marriages is one too many!

Obviously the Republican county chairman in Florida could take some lessons from fellow "sanctity of marriage" Republican, Rep. Don Sherwood, the millionaire Republican from northeast Pennsylvania.
GOP leaders announced that Sherwood will keep his job as chairman of the GOP committee to help Republican candidates win re-election in tough races. That little "domestic incident" will not affect his effectiveness according to a spokesman for the Republican National Congressional Committee. What "domestic incident" are they talking about? This one! What does this 29-yr-old woman look like? The one 64-yr-old Republican congressman Don Sherwood was giving a "back rub" to? Here's a pic of the young woman who claims Sherwood tried to choke her. She looks like a wedding present from the Mustang Ranch! “He has that pink, rosy skin. When I first met him he had those big glasses.” What a stud! He also has tons of money! That will do wonders for your sex appeal. ![]() Anyway, the important thing is that he didn't get a divorce. That would have hurt his chances of retaining his chairmanship of the committee to re-elect Republicans in tight congressional races and it might even have affected his excellent rating from the Christian Coalition folks. Personal "domestic incidents" won't affect your ratings because they are based entirely on your voting record and have absolutely nothing to do with your own personal family values, if any. And let's not forget, Congressman Sherwood voted for that amendment back in 1999 to allow the Ten Commandments to be displayed in public schools. That was the House Republicans' response to the Columbine shooting tragedy. Hey, you think it would help any if Congressman Sherwood actually read those commandments? I think he may have violated one of them. :slap:

Rush Limbaugh has only been married three times so far but he's definitely serious about his current squeeze. She's just waiting to see if he's going to jail first before she agrees to marry him. Newt Gingrich has only been married three times but he's still young and still thinking of running for the Republican nomination for president in 2008. Bob Barr, the author of the Defense of Marriage Act, has been married three times.
