Dr. Frist got more than he bargained for when he went shopping for shoes:

Is this guy clueless or what?

He goes out to buy some nice American-made shoes. So far, so good. He could have chosen Johnston & Murphy (my favorites) since they're from his home state of Tennessee but he chose Allen-Edmonds, headquartered in Wisconsin. OK, no harm done. At least they're American, right?

BUT, and this is where it gets too funny for words...

The Allen-Edmonds shoe store in Washington, DC, just happens to be located directly beneath the offices of Americans United to Protect Social Security, who just happened to notice that Dr. Frist had parked his SUV illegally while he was shopping for his nice new shoes ($530 for two pairs).

And... They just happened to call the local TV station to alert them that Dr. Frist would be coming out of the door shortly and they would be there to greet him with protest signs.

And... They just happened to alert the local meter maid that there was a very large black SUV parked illegally and blocking traffic.

And... The timing was perfect! Dr. Frist walks out, is greeted by the impromptu protest AND receives a parking ticket from the meter maid AND the entire thing is captured by the TV crew!
