Gold hit $685/oz earlier today but crude oil has pulled back to $69.95/bbl.

Mad Dog Mahmoud announced that he wrote a letter to President Bush and the gold and oil markets immediately went down. Oil dropped all the way down to around $69/bbl.

Then Condi Rice announced the next day that the letter wasn't serious and we would have no response to it and gold and oil reversed course.

Oil is back up above $71/bbl and gold just passed $700/oz.

Crude oil is nearly $74/bbl this morning and gold is above $727/oz!!!
