Why does a national "news" organization think it is helpful to the progress of humankind to publish francophobic rantings of their talking heads?
Wishing that the French had gotten the 2012 Olympics instead of the British so that Paris could experience terrorist attacks instead of London is not something that I think deserves publication, but then I'm not a complete jackass like Roger Ailes and Rupert Murdock. Trash begets trash. What else!

He's quite the Freedom Fry
John Gibson has been writing his columns with his forehead and a half empty bottle of Crown since his "Storm the Bastille" riot inciting op.
He's done. His shrill attempts to "out Hannity" Hannity and "out Rush" Rush amuse me...when he isn't just lifting from them.

Fox News slammed over 'callous' line
Julian Borger in Washington
Saturday July 9, 2005 The Guardian Rupert Murdoch's Fox News channel was under fire yesterday for comments by some of its leading journalists in response to the London bombs. Speaking about the reaction of the financial markets, Brit Hume, the channel's Washington managing editor, said: "Just on a personal basis ... I saw the futures this morning, which were really in the tank, I thought 'hmm, time to buy'." The host of a Fox News programme, Brian Kilmeade, said the attacks had the effect of putting terrorism back on the top of the G8's agenda, in place of global warming and African aid. "I think that works to our advantage, in the western world's advantage, for people to experience something like this together, just 500 miles from where the attacks have happened." Another Fox News host, John Gibson, said before the blasts that the International Olympic Committee "missed a golden opportunity" by not awarding the 2012 games to France. "If they had picked France instead of London to hold the Olympics, it would have been the one time we could look forward to where we didn't worry about terrorism. They'd blow up Paris, and who cares?" He added: "This is why I thought the Brits should let the French have the Olympics - let somebody else be worried about guys with backpack bombs for a while." Media Matters for America, a watchdog and frequent critic of Fox, criticised the comments on its website. "I think it's absolutely sickening three Fox anchors had such callous reactions to the bombings that took dozens of lives," said the Jamison Foser, of the group. The Fox News media relations office had not responded by the time the Guardian went to press yesterday.

If anyone thinks that John Gibson regrets the comments he made the day before the bombings in London, they would be wrong. He used the bombings as an example that proves his point, that it would be nice if someone would blow up Paris for a change. It is staggering to realize that this hateful jackass has a following. No wonder the rest of the world is beginning to wonder what's going on over here.
From the "My Word" segment of the July 7 edition of Fox News' The Big Story with John Gibson: GIBSON: The bombings in London: This is why I thought the Brits should let the French have the Olympics -- let somebody else be worried about guys with backpack bombs for a while.

John Gibson fixes a fresh drink...says "nah" and instead hits the crack pipe.
"I say give Karl Rove (search) a medal, even if Bush has to fire him. Why? Because Valerie Plame (search) should have been outed by somebody. And if nobody else had the cojones to do it, I'm glad Rove did — if he did do it, and he still says he didn't.
Why should she have been outed? Well despite her husband's repeated denials, even in the face of a pile of evidence and conclusions from a Senate investigation, it appears all evidence points to Joe Wilson's wife, spy Valerie Plame, as the one who recommended him for the job of going to Niger to discover is Saddam was trying to buy nuke bomb materials. Why is this important? Because Wilson was opposed to the war in Iraq, opposed to Bush policy, and pointedly and loudly said so. Consequently, it was of some interest how he got chosen for this sensitive job which people at the time might have thought would be a fulcrum point for a decision about the war. " John rambles on a bit more, in full blown 2 fisted drunk mode and then finishes with, "Rove should get a medal — if he did what he says he didn't. That's My Word...and this is my Malt Liquor, so get your own!!!" ![]()

He has a couple of other really outrageous columns lately but he's just a moron and I have lost interest in following his idiotic rants. He keeps going on an on about how Paris deserves to be bombed. (No, not Paris Hilton. She's already bombed enough, thank you very much.)
He's right about one thing, if Karl Rove is not indicted, he will almost certainly be awarded the Medal of Freedom before Bush leaves office. If he is actually charged with a crime (something that is probably unlikely), he will eventually be pardoned. Ford pardoned Nixon. Clinton pardoned everybody who had ever contributed to his campaign. Bush awarded the Medal of Freedom to former DCIA George Tenet at a ceremony that just happened to take place the same day the 9/11 Commission released their report concluding that the CIA had been poorly managed.

John Gibson hearts Mick...no really.
Poor Gimlet Gibson,
Today his love for the Rolling Stones has him in a bit of a pickle. He wants to bash Mick desperately. But he...just...can't...pull...the...trigger. "Can't you just see Mick's lips wrapping around those lines as he checks out Condi in her "Matrix Reloaded " outfit.Somebody get the hose! ![]() A lot of people are talking about how it's Jagger taking a shot at George W. Bush. After all, underneath it all, he's still a Brit. He's in show biz, so that makes him a raving leftie and, of course, he hates George W. Bush. But I don't think it's about Bush. I think it's about Condoleeza Rice. "How come you so wrong, my sweet neo-con?" Can't you just see Mick's lips wrapping around those lines as he checks out Condi in her "Matrix Reloaded " outfit? I used to work at Mick's record company. Took him to dinner once. It was 30 years ago. But there's no way he's singing about a guy — George W. Bush — even if it is political commentary. No way. Well wait. He is getting old. But, still, no way. My question is this: Since when is the world's biggest troublemaker getting all dewy-eyed and singing peace ballads? Come on. This is the sympathy for the devil guy. This is the guy who can't get no satisfaction. This is the guy who if he tries sometimes just might get what he needs. This is the guy who has inspired God knows how many American criminals, those tattooed, toothless types you see lurking around places you want to just keep driving through. They all sit around saying, "Well, hell, if it's ok by Mick, I guess it's ok by me. I'll just go beat somebody's head in with a pool cue." Come on now. That happened and you know it did. So "how come you so wrong, my sweet neo-con?" Come on, Mick. How come you so wrong about keeping Saddam on his throne? How come you so wrong back home there in Britain about those hate-spewing imams who won't harm anybody? So you think this line is going to go down in rock history? "Can't always get what you want, I can't get no" and "how come you so wrong, my sweet neo-con?" I don't know. Let's wait and hear how he sings it. Who knows? Good singers make bad lines sound good all the time. That's My Word ....and this is my Peach Schnaps, so get your own!!!" ![]()

Schrocat,
Mick said today that My Sweet Neo Con is not about Bush personally. Read that statement very carefully. He has already said to Newsweek and to an Australian media outlet that it is meant as "a dig at Bush." He has also said that it's about moralism in the White House. The title of the song is obviously about Condoleezza Rice. Condoleezza is a derivation of the Italian "Con dolcezza", meaning "with sweetness." I have only been able to find two or three lines of the lyrics online. The full lyrics do not show up yet as far as I can tell.

This line from Sweet Neo Con could apply to either Bush or Condoleezza Rice:
"You call yourself a Christian, I call you a hypocrite/You call yourself a patriot, well I think you're full of s---." Condoleezza is the daughter of a Presbyterian minister. Supposedly Halliburton is mentioned in that song but I haven't been able to find all of the lyrics. P.S. -- If the price of oil keeps going up, maybe Exxon will name another oil tanker after Condoleezza. ![]()

Faux News (aka the RNC propaganda network) thinks it's time we ditched Social Security. We can't afford to defend our freedom and continue with these wasteful gov'mit handouts:
![]() ![]() Remember back in 1978 when George W. Bush ran for Congress from Texas on a platform of full privatization of Social Security because it would be bankrupt within ten years? He lost that election. Looks like the neo-cons think that Americans would be more than willing to give up Social Security to "defend freedom." Only liberal Democrats who hate our freedom would want to defend Social Security. P.S. -- How can we possibly afford to invade Iran, Aruba and Canada if we're still saddled with this expensive New Deal welfare program for old folks who didn't buy oil company stocks?

Run with it Fox! Gibson's "5 in the noggin" editorial wasn't enough!!
Why in the heck should the President be the only one free falling in the ratings game?
They should just start running "kill old people welfare" across the bottom of the screen to the bafflement of their core viewers and get it over with.

I'll bet you can't guess who said this way back on May 24, 2000:
"The government has apologized and provided cash compensation to victims who were forced into camps. There is no denying that what happened to Japanese-American internees was abhorrent and wrong." Here are a few clues: She once worked for a Seattle newspaper. She is the daughter of immigrants. She has been on Fox News frequently of late touting her latest book. She claimed that John Kerry shot himself to collect one of his purple hearts. On her website, she says this about her new book: "If you want to read a book decrying the loss of personal freedom in wartime America, this is the wrong book. If you want to read a book about the history of institutional discrimination against minorities in America, you’re out of luck again." "In Defense of Internment provides a radical departure from the predominant literature of civil liberties absolutism. It offers a defense of the most reviled wartime policies in American history: the evacuation, relocation, and internment of people of Japanese descent during World War II..." http://michellemalkin.com/books.htm OK, I guess I made it too easy for you. If you guessed Michelle Malkin, concentration camp enthusiast and frequest guest of Bill O'Reilly, you're correct. So how did she go from "abhorrent and wrong" to the right thing to do? Can you say $$$$$$$$$$$$$. Maybe she snorted some of Rush Limbaugh's OxyContin? I understand it helps erase all memory along with any residual ethics.

Bush gets tough questions...looks desperately for help.
http://www.editorandpublisher.com/ea..._id=1001019573
Bush: We've got somebody from Fox here, somebody told me? Q Yes, Mr. President, thank you. BUSH: There you are, kind of blending in. Q Sorry about that. Does the administration's goal -- I'll ask you about the Iraqi constitution. You said you're confident that it will honor the rights of women. BUSH: Yes. Q If it's rooted in Islam, as it seems it will be, is that still -- is there still the possibility of honoring the rights of women? Damnit FOXNEWS! The President answered YES! Why rephrase the question?... unless you think the President is... ![]()

Since Fox News wrongly identified a La Habra home as that of a terrorist, its five-member family has faced an angry backlash. http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la...nes-california

Serious congrats.
Sheppard Smith got his soul back this week. His countless angry contradictions of the "why we can't do anything" FEMA/FOX talking points was inspiring. Welcome back Shep! For a sec there, watching you angrily refute Bill O...I thought you were possesed by Al Franken.
