Who do I talk to??

Lately the ideas have just been flowing. I've noticed that there are a few places around my town that need some work done. For example there is a very dangerous intersection out by my house where 3 highways merge together. There needs to be traffic lights put in and better signs indicating what's ahead. I've seen quite a few wrecks there and even more close calls. There are also some pretty dangerous places due to the mountains around that need to be worked on as far as the pavement/signs are concerned. I'm only 23 and don't know if I'm the right person to bring this up. I also don't know who to even bring it up to or the best way to go about it. Who do I talk to? How do I present myself etc etc?

Look in your local telephone book. They should have local and state government listings, usually in the front of the book. For problems inside city limits, contact the appropriate city department. It will probably be called something like "Dept. of Streets & Public Safety" or something similar. If it's a small city, just contact the office of the mayor. For problems outside the city, contact the county or the state. In California, that would be CalTrans (California Dept. of Transportation).

You should be able to figure out the best place to call by going through the government listings in your phone book. A letter may be even more effective than a phone call because they usually keep those on file and usually answer them.

Alright Ninong I appreciate it. I never noticed stuff like this when I was younger but the older I get the more I pay attention to what goes on around me. I don't know how effective I can be especially since I'm so young but my family is very well known around here and that seems to help me at times.
