HOT HOT HOT!!!

I think KY "FEELS" hotter though then Phoenix, due to the humidity! It has been in the low to mid 90's here too!

Your right Mike, with the humidity it is literally unbearable. Very difficult to breathe out too.

Wednesday we were in Monterey and the highs were in the low 60's. Thursday and Friday we were in San Francisco and it was brilliant sunshine with highs in the low 70's. When we got back to Elk Grove (Sacramento area), the highs were around 107 but the humidity was in the high 20's to low 30's, so the heat index was LOWER than the actual temperature. Right now it's only 92 with a heat index of 89. It's supposed to get to 101 today but that's not nearly as bad as 97 in Louisiana. Ninety-seven in Louisiana usually means a heat index of 114 due to the humidity being above 70%.

I can tell you for certain that I prefer 101 with 31% humidity to 95 with 75% humidity.

P.S. -- I just pulled the current temp off the internet and it's only 93 here in Elk Grove with relative humidity of 28%. It's supposed to reach 101 later today but it won't be all that bad because of the low humidity. Overnight low of 60 degrees. In Louisiana it never drops below 74 degrees from June through September, even at night.

Here is today's forecast for my home in Louisiana:
Sunday: A mix of clouds and sun. A stray afternoon or evening thunderstorm is possible. Heat index near 110F. High 97F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph.
Sunday night: Mainly clear. A stray thunderstorm is possible through the evening. Low around 75F. Winds light and variable.

That is pretty weird that it feels cooler than it actually is. I guess it's weird for me because we always have high humidity in the summer in KY.

I sorry but you guys don't know hot until you visit south florida in June-July highs from 93-102 with 93-100 percent humidity 100 percent = rain. chillers and air conditioning are a must. I feel sorry for everyone up north without airconditioning or chillers for that fact you guys must be hurting. Hurricanes are rough too thank goodness for generators. If you want to see something really weird try to be down here during rainy season i.e summer it will be broad daylight but pouring rain at the sametime. But it is still fun and a good place to purchase fish at lowerprices.

We were just up in Gary a couple of weeks ago. Stayed there and commuted to Chicago a couple of days for a little vacation. The Shedd is pretty nice although the tanks did have some Aiptasia. The fish in the main display are very nice.
