Anybody have any recent experiences with Amazon? Do you feel that they're getting like Fedex?
I have purchased all of my marine reef library from Amazon.com over the past decade or more without any problems. Recently, their service has become apalling -- a lot of 'feel good' statements and exactly the opposite action. In addition, hardcover books supplied by them have been delivered with corners knocked off them through inadequate packaging and pages have been physically unbound into the book.Their customer relations people are hopeless -- on a par with Fedex, if you know what I mean. Seems that they too have outsourced their customer relations to some far away Asian country and whose operators struggle with English language. Putting their discount pricing issues aside, Amazon have become unrealiable in their service and should not be promoted in our hobby as reliable service providers until they can actually meet reasonable expectations for delivery and customer service. Just my 2 cents worth as a recent totally dissatisfied customer -- 2.5 months later, I have no books and they still have my money! |

Have you ever tried ordering used books from US to Slovenia? You don't know the meaning of frustration.

I have been having about a 50/50 sucess rate with Amazon lately. Half the time they never even send an item and I have to file for refund.
needless to say, Barnes & Noble are getting my biz from now on
