Animated Avatars...

Does Reefland support them? I haven't seen any, but I'm assuming an animated GIF would work... anyone?

I think so Marc, I remember seeing a swimming clownfish on the board once before.

Some people find animated avatars annoying and distracting.

That's my fear. I could do it better with Flash (so it's less distracting) but I doubt the system would support it - or does it?

No Flash.

And for those who don't want to see avatars, you have an option in your user control panel to not view any avatars.

Or perhaps I'd be better not animating it...

I'll have a go at something and see if people go "ARGH - turn it off!!"

Meantime Scott, how about giving us webwise folks the option to create Flash avatars? (Same 90x90 size - I could even host it if necessary)

Preddy please Mr Reefland...

Rebecca, the kitty is exausted, at least that;s what it said on the title when I downloaded that avatar( actually my daughter did... )
The gif file that I posted is called 'heavy coal' and I thought it was hysterical as well.

Here's another funny avatar involving kitty...

heavy coal IS funny, but kitty is better. And I don't think heavy coal needs to be smaller.
