Talking We underestimated Katherine Harris!

According to Glenn Hodas, who became her third campaign manager in April, she's even "worse than reported!"

Mea culpa! We mustn't go around misunderestimating people, especially Republican senatorial candidates.

"I read the reports and I said 'There's no way all this stuff could be true.' But as time wore on, not only was it true but it was worse than reported," he said. He described "tantrums, micromanaging, an increasingly erratic behavior and counterproductive, damaging statements and activities."

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) -- U.S. Rep. Katherine Harris' third Senate campaign manager has resigned, citing the candidate's "tantrums" and "increasingly erratic behavior."

The gift that keeps on giving!

P.S. -- Maybe all those showers with "Celestial Drops" with their "improved fractal design," "infinite levels of order" and "high energy and low entropy" have affected her brain? Or maybe those spandex tops are cutting off the circulation of blood to her brain?

Arrow Rudy to the rescue!

Maybe it's time to call in Rudy Guiliani to make a campaign appearance with her? He'll show up on stage with just about anybody, he's that desperate to win the GOP nomination in 2008.

Rudy even campaigned with Ricky Santorum last week. Why not, he's already campaigned for Ralph Reed. I guess he's trying to prove that he can be a real Republican in spite of the fact that he's pro-abortion, pro-gay rights and pro-gun control. That might be a hard sell but hey, he has a lot in common with many prominent Republicans. For instance, like Newt Gingrich, he cheated on wife number two with the future wife number three. Actually Newt's one up on him there in that Newt forced his first wife to sign the divorce papers while she was in the hospital undergoing cancer treatment. And Newt cheated on all of his then current wives with his future wives. You'd think they would have seen this coming?

Rudy's press conference announcing that he was seeking a separation from Donna Hanover (wife #2) before he even bothered to tell her about that idea was pretty neat. Donna said she was hoping they could make the marriage work out and was sorry to learn on the 6 o'clock news that her husband was dumping her. Rudy probably thought it was a good idea since he was already being seen in public with Judith Nathan (the future wife #3). Rudy said he and Judith were just "good friends" but he later admitted that they had an "adult relationship." Good old Republican family values.

I'm sure Rudy has a lot in common with Ricky Santorum. Let's see. They're both Catholics of Italian heritage. Rudy's pro-gay rights and Ricky's worried that gay rights will lead to man-on-dog sex. Rudy's pro-choice and Ricky's not only anti-abortion, he's anti-birth control of any kind. Ricky thinks states should have the right to pass laws banning all forms of birth control if they choose. Rudy's pro-gun control. Ricky's not. Oh, well... I'm sure they agree on a lot of things that we just haven't heard about. And just think, if Rudy gets elected, we get Bernie Keric as Director of Homeland Security or head of the F.B.I.

Anyway, next time Rudy's down South campaigning for Ralphie Reed, he could pay a visit to Katherine Harris and lend her some support. Maybe he could bring Ricky Santorum with him?

Arrow Speaking of the Recount Queen:

The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that Ed Rollins was interviewed by the feds recently and he reports that "they were very serious." No word on what he told them about the $50,000 ($32,000 of which were illegal) in contributions from Mitch Wade and the quid pro quo earmark request but his previous public statements on this matter can't be all that comforting for Ms Harris:

"Her story changed whenever you asked her about it," he [Ed Rollins] said.

P.S. -- She's 30 points behind in the polls, her campaign managers keep quitting because of her "tantrums" and "increasingly irratic behavior" and now the feds are investigating her ties to one of Duke Cunningham's confessed bribers.

Arrow Ralphie Reed lost in spite of Guiliani's help:

Hmmm... On second thought, maybe she shouldn't ask Rudy to campaign for her. Rudy campaigned heavily for Ralphie Reed and poor little Ralphie was trounced yesterday by a no-name state senator in the GOP primary for lieutenant governor of Georgia.

I'm sure Ralphie will blame it on the Indians. He recently said that he regretted ever taking their $5 million in gambling profits to work against allowing casinos for competing tribes. He had no idea the money they sent him came from gambling. He thought they just wanted to help him stamp out gambling. Those Indians can be so sneaky sometimes.

Yep, Ralphie is blaming his loss on the Indians AND Sen. John McCain. He says McCain has been out to get him to even the score so to speak. I guess he's talking about 2000 when Ralphie worked against McCain's bid for the GOP nomination.

The connection was the report issued by the Senate Indian Affairs Committee, chaired by McCain, that found Ralphie had been paid more than $5 million by two casino-owning Indian tribes -- both clients of lobbyist Jack Abramoff -- to rally Christian voters against other tribes opening competing casinos.

Talking So, what's the latest on Katherine Harris?

WASHINGTON - U.S. Senate candidate Katherine Harris received a grand jury subpoena from federal investigators and concealed the fact from top campaign advisers hired to help her deflect negative publicity, her former campaign manager has disclosed.

"Yes, there was a subpoena. She didn't tell us," said Glenn Hodas, Harris' third and most recent campaign manager. He said he learned of it in June while reviewing invoices from powerhouse Washington lawyer Benjamin J. Ginsberg and confronted his boss.

The invoices, Hodas said, were for work relating to a "DOJ subpoena," referring to the U.S. Department of Justice.

The discovery culminated in the latest round of staff departures, in mid-July, Hodas said. Those resignations included Hodas and a campaign spokesman.

"Finding out about the subpoena caused me to wonder about what was going on and what else I didn't know, but I don't want to comment any further on what appears to be a pending investigation," said Hodas, reached by telephone Tuesday.

Read the rest of the article here.

P.S. -- Ginsberg is no longer her lawyer.

P.P.S. -- Time to call Martha Stewart and get her DIY shank recipe.

Arrow Looks like Katherine Harris violated House rules, too!

It is now being reported that she failed to inform the Speaker of the House that she had received a subpoena -- and that's a violation of House rules. It's called House Rule VIII. That rule requires that members and their staff who receive subpoenas must report this to the Speaker and this information is then published in the Congressional Record. There is nothing in the Record about Katherine Harris receiving a subpoena.

I'm sure she just forgot about it, right? I mean, if Mel Gibson can forget that he's a bigot, Katherine Harris can forget that she got a federal subpoena.

Speaking of summer TV, did you see where all of the networks have cancelled War in Iraq and replaced it with Crisis in the Middle East?

War in Iraq was in the middle of its fourth season and viewers were getting tired of the same old stuff over and over again every night. Hopefully this new replacement series will improve ratings.

Wow.

She really is quite good at bending rules, ignoring rules, and when needed...making rules up.

Seeing how she played such a major role back in 2000...I'm reeeeealy enjoying watching this.

Arrow Good help is hard to find!

Katherine Harris said she tried very hard to find campaign workers "with integrity" because integrity is the most important quality to her. Yeah, right!

Additional trivia: Not only is she on her fourth campaign manager right now but since she entered Congress in 2003, she has had more than a dozen key staffers quit, including four chiefs of staff and four press secretaries.

And all of her former campaign managers are talking. Check it out.

"I have never in my life worked for somebody like her — ever — and hopefully I'll never have to again." -- Jim Dornan, Harris' first campaign manager.

When a half-dozen [staffers] quit in early April, Harris posted a security guard outside her headquarters to prevent them from removing any of their belongings and changed the locks on the doors.

Talking Katherine Harris selects her new campaign manager:

I hope this one has some "integrity." It's so hard finding good help nowadays.

Talking Um, um, good!

Actually she paid $400 for that opossum at the Wausau Possum Festival. Bill Nelson left before the auction but Katherine hung around for the auction and tasting. No word on whether that's the one she ate or not. She said it tasted just like raccoon!

We have to book that woman on Fear Factor!

P.S. -- It's not really possum; it's opossum. Possums live in Australia.

Yes, I viewed the video on RedState. I don't think it's as damaging as they think but what do I know. It's not as bad as comments Jimmy-the-Greek Snyder made or Rush Limbaugh made when they were giving their "expert" opinion on the athletic prowess of certain minority players.

In fact, I don't think his comment about the lack of swimming prowess of his black troops rises to the same level as Sen. Allen calling a dark-skinned college student a "Macaca" and sarcastically welcoming him to America. I would be surprised if Sen. Allen's presidential aspirations aren't negatively affected by this incident.

Not if he balanced it out with former Atl mayor and recently resigned Wal-Mart image czar Andrew Young as his running mate!
“You see those are the people who have been overcharging us,” he said of the owners of the small stores, “and they sold out and moved to Florida. I think they’ve ripped off our communities enough. First it was Jews, then it was Koreans and now it’s Arabs.”

Ouch.

ORLANDO -- Katherine Harris' attempt to boost her campaign with a series of high-profile endorsements wilted Thursday when none of the officials appeared at her campaign rally and one of them said Harris wrongly included him on her list of supporters.
State Sen. Daniel Webster, R-Winter Garden, said he has not endorsed Harris and instead is supporting one of her challengers, Orlando attorney Will McBride. ...

None of the nine officials listed on her event flier appeared, leaving Harris on her own to address a group of about 40 supporters, reporters and campaign staff members.

Harris spoke in an airplane hangar that seemed to highlight the modest size of the crowd. She said a last-minute location change -- required because a tree fell on the hangar where the event was supposed to be held -- kept crowd numbers down.
Airport officials, however, said no hangar had been damaged by a downed tree and that the rally was held in the hangar that had been originally booked.

Sounds like another one of Karl Rove's dirty tricks to me! It's a downright shame that Mr. Rove refuses to support Katherine's senatorial campaign after all she's done for the GOP. After all, if it weren't for Katherine, Karl would be back in Texas working for his other special friend, Rick Perry. He would probably have Kenny Mehlman and Scotty McClellan on his staff.

OK, so if the total number of people in attendance was 40, how many of those were supporters? Once you eliminate staff members and reporters, how many actual supporters would that leave? And curious airport maintenance workers don't count.

"A tree fell on the hangar." -- That's a good one! Just more evidence that taking showers with "Celestial Drops" has damaged her brain. Maybe she has citrus canker of the brain?

You have to give Katherine credit for one thing, she sure isn't a quitter. Karl Rove and Jeb Bush couldn't get her to quit, even after they leaked that confidential letter asking her to withdraw. Fox News couldn't get her to quit, even after they ridiculed her on the semi-official RNC network.

Her campaign managers -- three of them -- haven't been able to get her to quit even after they publicly said she was deranged and subject to tantrums and irrational behavior.

Katherine just keeps on truckin' because, in her own words, she's "doing God's work." That's why the devil is out to get her. All of these embarrassing situations are the work of the devil. But that won't stop Katherine. Even if she's gets indicted for accepting bribes, she'll keep on truckin'.

No humiliation is too great to stop her from doing "God's work."
