What a heart-warming story!

That Karl Rove is a mastermind. Spike Lee's documentary aired this past Monday and Tuesday showing Hurricane Katrina victims trashing FEMA and our fine President and by some strange cowinkydink, regular good ole boy Rockey Vaccarella drives his FEMA trailer all the way to the White House to meet with the President and thank him for everything he has done for Katrina victims. Rockey told Bush it's a downright shame that he can't run for a third term.

I guess this means Rockey's getting ready to run for office again? Maybe he'll do better this time with Karl Rove's help?

Oh, and that FEMA trailer? It's NOT a FEMA trailer.

Once again we are victims of our liberal press.

Chris Mathews (MSNBC's Hardball) had Rockey Vaccarella on (via telephone) a few minutes ago. Chris asked Rockey if it's true that he ran for office as a Republican. Rockey said this isn't about politics but yes, it's true that he's a Republican because he changed his registration to Republican in 1980 when Ronald Reagan got the American hostages in Iran released.

Two points:

(1) The hostages were released one hour after Reagan was inaugurated in January 1981 in a pre-arranged deal with Reagan's representatives.

(2) Rockey Vaccarella was 15 years old at the time.
