    Arrow Speaking of attack ads...

Someone responded to Kenny Mehlman's attack ad against Harold Ford, Jr. with a parody ad aimed at Mehlman himself.

Arrow Party Boy John Sweeney went all Don Sherwood on his wife!

No, I have no idea why they all look wasted.

Wow! Party animal Rep. John Sweeney (R-NY) grabbed his wife by the neck and dragged her around the house, according to the police report. It seems Mrs. Sweeney called the cops on her husband.

``Complainant stated that she and husband got into verbal argument that turned a little physical by her being grabbed by the neck and pushed around the house,'' Gunsel wrote in the narrative portion of the blotter entry, according to the document. ``Suspect had scratches on face. Both parties refused medical attention. Complainant removed to friend's house for the evening ... refused any type of prosicution (sic) arrest.''
P.S. -- Well, at least he didn't spit on her like Senator Macaca did to his first wife!

Gads guys long time no argue.

How pathetic has the Democrat party become? Given the current political climate there should be no question of IF the democrats will gain control of both houses. It should be about by how large a margin they will gain control.

    That's heresy!

Both the President and Deputy Leader Dick have assured us that God's Own Party will be victorious next Tuesday.

You should be ashamed to call yourself a Republican if you doubt that the glorious compassionate conservative revolution will not smite the godless liberal Democrats on November 7th.

If people will just stop and think... Oops! I meant to say stay the course, they will realize that a vote for the Democrats is the same as a vote for the terroristsss! A vote for the Democrats is a vote for a nukular Korean peninschula! A vote for the Democrats is a vote to suspend our glorious crusade to bring freedom and Christian democracy to the Middle East -- except for Israel, of course, which will be allowed to continue with its non-Christian democracy. The Israelis are still our friends even though they're all going straight to hell for not accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Amen!

A vote for the Democrats is a vote in favor of "performing medical experiments on unborn babies." Blastocyst children have rights, too. President Bush was right to use his one and only veto to kill that embryonic stem cell research bill that had bi-partisan support in the Republican controlled Congress.

A vote for the Democrats is a vote against streamlining the Bill of Rights. In times like these, some of these rights are just simply too burdensome to be bothered with and the President should be allowed to decide which rights are really necessary. The President should be allowed to decide who qualifies as an enemy combatant. If you're not an enemy combatant, you have nothing to worry about. After a few "dunks in the water" we'll find out if you're an enemy combatant or not. And the idea that just because you're a U.S. citizen means you have certain rights is hogwash. If the President decides to have you picked up and held as an enemy combatant, it doesn't matter if you're a citizen or not. And that's the way it should be. Thank goodness habeas corpus has been suspended for the duration of the present conflict, however long that may be.

A vote for the Democrats means you want to force the government to ask activist judges to issue warrants before we listen in on your phone conversations or before we search your medical records or checking account records or credit card charges or library checkouts. That's ridiculous! The President knows what's best and we should just trust him to make the right decisions. He's the Decider! And he has never made a mistake. If he had it all to do over again, he would do it exactly the same. That's what I call courage of your convictions. The Democrats call that arrogance and ignorance but that's why they're all going straight to hell.

A vote for the Democrats is a vote for raising the minimum wage! Only a communist or a socialist or a godless San Francisco liberal would even think of doing such a thing. And I understand the Democrats want to force the V.A. and Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices with the big pharmaceutical companies. That's outrageous! The drug companies should be allowed to continue charging three times as much for the same drugs in the U.S. as they charge in Canada. It's the American way.

A vote for the Democrats is a vote for San Francisco values! Can you imagine what would happen if Nancy Pelosi should become Speaker of the House? Just look at San Francisco. They have health care for all children! Shouldn't that be illegal? They have a minimum wage that is more than $3 higher than the federal minimum wage. That's downright un-American!

And Nancy Pelosi and her San Franciso Democrats want to save the environment and protect endangered species. That's a complete waste of taxpayer money because, as everyone knows, the Rapture is upon us and saving the environment is a waste of time. And God gave us dominion over the animals to do with as we please. We should be hunting spotted owls, not protecting them. And, as President Bush has pointed out, our national parks are vast. So vast that there are parts of them that are almost never seen by the average tourist. What's wrong with drilling for energy or maybe a little strip mining in those parts of the parks that would be out of sight?

A vote for the Democrats is a vote to return to the old sinful ways of the previous administration. That was a truly disgraceful period in our history and I'm glad that God chose President Bush to restore honor and dignity to the White House. That lying, womanizing Democrat, Bill Clinton, tarnished our reputation worldwide. Thank God President Bush has restored the good name of the United States of America. He has shown all the nations of the world exactly what he stands for.

And people should realize that under President Bush the Dow Jones Industrial Average has reached new highs. Why, we're over 12,000 now! People who point out that the DJIA was at 11,750 back in 2000 are missing the point. It's at a new record high now and that's all that matters. Sure, we've had 20% inflation over the past six years, so we would have to be at 14,100 on the Dow just to be even, but that's beside the point. And yes, the S&P500 is still below where it was six years ago and the NASDAQ would have to more than double from its present level just to be even but who watches those indices anyway?

I wonder if people who are thinking of voting for the Democrats realize that under our current Christian leaders, we have experienced 2.6% annual growth in GDP? So what if we had 3.7% annual growth during the years Bill Clinton was in office, at least we now have a President the whole world can be proud of.

And people who are preparing to vote for Democrats should consider the fact that President Bush's economic policies have created millions of new jobs. OK, most of those jobs were created in China and India and Mexico but he did create 3 million new jobs in the U.S. That's an average of 45,000 new jobs per month. OK, so it takes 150,000 new jobs per month just to keep up with population growth but we're doing something about that right now. We're building a 700-mile-long fence along the 2000-mile Mexican border to keep out all those illegal immigrants who are coming over here to steal all the high-paying jobs that President Bush has created. OK, so we haven't actually funded the fence and it probably won't be built but at least President Bush signed the bill before the November 7th elections to prove that he's tough on illegal immigration. OK, so even if the fence actually gets built, it will only block one-third of the border but that will force the illegal immigrants to go the long way around. Some people may want to mention that 23 million new jobs were created during the Clinton years (240,000 per month) but it's easy to explain how that happened. You see, President Clinton was greedy. He created so many new jobs during his eight years in office that the country has to slow down and catch its breath.

People with little or no breeding are quick to point out that President Clinton ran up obscene budget surpluses during the last three years that he was in office but we should be happy to put up with a few hundred billion a year in budget deficits if it will provide needed relief to the oil industry and the top 1% of the taxpayers. I know people like Warren Buffett and Bill Gates say they're against the complete elimination of the estate tax death tax but they don't really mean it. And Buffett giving way all of his wealth to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation was just a publicity stunt.

Before voting for Democrats, people should realize that Democrats may want to force our schools to teach science in science class. It should be up to the parents to decide if they want their children exposed to science or not. And even worse, we might see an increase in the teaching of "tolerance" and "diversity," which we all know are code words for Nancy Pelosi's homosexual agenda that will take over the House of Representatives if the Democrats win on November 7th. They'll probably have an annual fiesta for all the homosexual illegal immigrants that they will import to take over all the good paying jobs that President Bush and Deputy Leader Dick created.

If we vote for the Democrats, they might want to expose all of our Republican colleagues in the House and the Senate who may have engaged in what some might consider inappropriate behavior with young people under their care and supervision. Things like this are not discussed in polite society and certainly not on cable news during the family dinner hour.

"At least Republican men molest children of the correct sex. " -- Claim made on April 5, 2006 by a member of this forum.

Prophetic response by another member to that foolish claim: "You may not want to go there because I could really, REALLY burn you on that issue. For starters, we would have to reopen the JimmyJeff files. And that would be only the beginning."

P.S. -- If you think the country is headed in the right direction, then vote to stay the course. Vote Republican!

On the other hand, if you think we're off course and it's time to change the course and cut and run from incompetence and corruption, then don't vote for any Republican candidates. Send a message to the White House that they can't misinterpret.

    Arrow Vote for Republicans!

A vote for the Democrats would mean that you don't approve of President Bush's plan to fight the terroristsss in Iraq instead of over here in America. Everyone knows (well, except for the godless liberal Democrats) that if we leave Iraq before the job is done, the terroristsss will follow us. God has chosen President Bush to smite the evildoers and the best place to do that is Iraq because that's where the oil is. And after we invaded Iraq, the evildoers followed us there.

On the other hand, Canada has a lot of oil, too. And they have cheap prescription drugs. Maybe if we invade Canada, the terroristsss will follow us there? It would be a lot more comfortable fighting the terroristsss in Canada. It's not nearly as hot and dusty and our troops could come home to visit every other weekend.

Arrow Bush gives Rumsfeld and Cheney glowing reviews!

President Bush said Wednesday he wants Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and Vice President Dick Cheney to remain with him until the end of his presidency, extending a job guarantee to two of the most-vilified members of his administration.

"Both those men are doing fantastic jobs and I strongly support them," Bush said in an interview with The Associated Press and others.

"I'm pleased with the progress we're making," the president said on Rush Limbaugh's show when asked about Iraq and Afghanistan.

There you have it. The same guy who said that FEMA's Michael Brown was doing a heckuva job with Hurricane Katrina relief has just said that Rummy is doing a heckuva job in Iraq. (He's also the same guy who traded Sammy Sosa!)

If you agree that Donald Rumsfeld has done a "fantastic job" in Iraq, you should vote for Republicans.

If, on the other hand, you realize that either you or the President is crazy and you're pretty sure it's not you, don't vote for the Republicans.

P.S. -- The Democrats should thank President Bush for reminding the voters that the War in Iraq is the most important issue in this election.

Talking The Avon Lady is back...

Katherine Harris is debating Bill Nelson on MSNBC right now. Every time she's talking, they have a banner running that points out interesting facts, such as:
    • "All 22 daily newspapers in Florida have endorsed Nelson."
    • "The latest Quinnipiac Poll shows Nelson with 64% to Harris' 29%."
    • "Gov. Jeb Bush in May said that he didn't think Harris could win."

    Arrow Oooooooh! Scary!

House Republican Whip Roy Blunt of Missouri issued a news release with a Halloween orange headline to reporters and Republican voters yesterday: Nancy Pelosi's Liberal Shop of Horrors: All Tricks, No Treats for America.

    Be afraid! Be VERY afraid!

Ethically challenged Rep. Roy Blunt (R-MO), father of Boy Blunder, listed the following scary quotes of Nancy Pelosi as proof that we should all be afraid! VERY afraid!

"Which Nancy Pelosi quote do you find most disturbing?" -- Rep. Blunt.

"A legitimate question for most San Francisco voters would be: Do you find any of the following quotes disturbing?" -- SF Chronicle reporter who thinks Roy Blunt is on drugs!

    Sample quotes:

"And I pride myself in being called a 'liberal', so I'm not dodging that word." (San Francisco Chronicle, 6/9/96)

"Anybody who's ever dealt with me knows not to mess with me." (TIME, 8/27/06)

"I don't really consider ourselves at war," Pelosi said. "We're in a struggle against terrorism throughout the world..." (Newhouse News Service, 5/6/02)

"The president 'seems to think the best way to revive the economy is to give more tax breaks to those who don't need them and dole out lucrative incentives that do not stimulate economic growth.'" (USA Today, 1/30/02)

No surprise that Pelosi typically wins her district with more than 80 percent of the vote, while President Bush received roughly 15 percent of San Francisco's votes in the past two elections.

If you are scared by what future Speaker Pelosi has said, you should vote Republican! And you might want to consider seeking professional medical attention before it's too late.

    Talking Thank you, Karl!

From now on, the Democrats should send Karl Rove a dozen red roses every November 7th in gratitude for his decision to have the President go on the attack over his Iraq War policies. Letting Bush open up and attack the Democrats as terrorist enablers and al-Qaida sympathizers has only increased the chances that the coming Democratic victory, at least in the House, will be even greater than previously envisioned.

From today's NY Times, another poll:

"The poll showed that 29 percent of Americans approve of the way President Bush is managing the war, matching the lowest mark of his presidency. Nearly 70 percent said Mr. Bush did not have a plan to end the war, and 80 percent said Mr. Bush’s latest effort to rally public support for the conflict amounted to a change in language but not policy."

No. One. Believes. Him. Anymore. Not even the Republicans!

    Talking I forgot Kenny Mehlman!

    Oops!

My bad, I forgot to include Rove's favorite protege, Kenny Mehlman, on the annual Thank-You bouquet list.

Mehlman's ads attacking Democratic candidates have been so juvenile and over the top that they have become the story on national news. Ordinarily this would be a good thing for the candidate the ads are supposed to support but these ads are so outrageously sleazy that even the GOP candidates who are the intended beneficiaries are demanding that the RNC pull them.

Then, to add insult to injury, Mehlman tells the GOP candidates that he has no authority to kill the ads because he's just the little ol' Chairman of the Republican National Committee, a job he got in gratitude for doing such a bang up job on Bush's 2004 campaign. He paid for the ads, he authorized the ads and he's responsible for their content, but he doesn't have the authority to pull them. That's good to know because that means that all the Democrats have to do is pay one of the GOP ad guys under the table to run an ad that actually benefits the Democratic candidate instead of the GOP candidate and Mehlman will be powerless to pull it. Yeah, right!

And who knows, maybe Kenny helped Karl devise the strategy of having President Bush say that if Democrats take control of Congress, terrorists win and America loses. Darth Cheney has been saying that for months and we all know where his approval numbers are. Now that we have both of them on the same page (oops!) the American people can see that they're both nuts.

Hey, maybe we should add Rush Limbaugh to the Thank-You list, too? If Claire McCaskill wins in Missouri, we will have Rush to thank for stirring up the stem cell debate. McCaskill supports federal money for stem cell research, her opponent opposes it. The majority of voters in Missouri support stem cell research. Thank you, Rush, you big fat draft-dodging, pill-popping, Viagra-taking idiot!

    Arrow Prediction update:

Democrats will have a net gain of 6 seats in the Senate.

Democrats will have a net gain of 7 governorships.
Those were my fearless predictions four days ago. What about today?

I'm still sticking with the same numbers but the Senate races have tightened up a lot in the past few days. Conrad Burns in Montana has closed the gap with Jon Tester and that state is no longer a gimme for the Democrats. It's going to come down to the get out the vote effort. I still think the Democrats will take Montana but it will be close.

Pennsylvania is a done deal for the Democrats but it will be closer than it looked just a few days ago. Casey will win but probably by no more than 10 points.

Rhode Island is another one that is a cinch for the Democrats. Whitehouse will win by at least 11 points.

Ohio is locked up for the Democrats. Brown will win by at least 7 points.

Missouri is still a toss-up but I think McCaskill can win. It will be very close. Whoever wins will win by less than 2 points.

Virginia is impossible to predict because the various polls disagree with each other. Webb will probably win by a very slim margin, less than 2 points.

Tennessee is slipping away from Harold Ford, Jr. Right now it looks like Corker may win in Tennessee. There is still enough time for Ford to surge back but right now it looks like Corker by at least 4 points.

Tom Kean, Jr. will fail in New Jersey in spite of the $3 million the GOP is spending this week on attack ads. The Democrats will hold onto New Jersey by at least 4 points, probably more.

Kyl looks safe in Arizona but if the Democratic wave turns into a tsunami, the Democrats could pick up Arizona.

The Democrats will cruise to victory in the House. They have 20 seats locked up and it's much more likely that they will be closer to 30 seats, plus or minus 5 seats.

Democrats will pick up a lot of governorships. I'm sticking with a net gain of 7.

P.S. -- It will be interesting to see how Fox News plays the election results. If the Democrats win big, meaning they gain control of both the House and Senate, Fox News' talking heads will say it was because Americans have grown tired of the war in Iraq. If the Democrats pick up only 16 or 17 seats in the House and only 3 or 4 seats in the Senate, Fox News will claim that as a major Republican victory! In fact, they might even call it a mandate. God only knows what they would call it if the Democrats fail to capture the House.

I'm thinking a special shout out to John Kerry is in order.
He's managed to waste 60% of FOX's airtime in the last 48 on a tractionless, non story, gotcha moment.

It may be a non-story but they have nothing else to hang their hopes on so it's not going away. They will now dig up everything that Kerry said back in the 1970's about the Vietnam war.

You would think that if you're going to pay people to write your speeches for you, you could at least read them as written.

Personally I'd like to see John Kerry placed in quarantine for the next five days. I wonder if Mark Foley is looking for a roommate? Nah! Too old.

    Arrow Remember Cynthia Ore?

Sure you do. She's the young woman who was throttled by Rep. Don Sherwood (R-PA) and then sued him for $5.5 million. No one has been able to locate her in weeks and her attorney refuses to say where she is living, but the AP has just published the details of her settlement with her former Sugar Daddy.

Vote for typical Republican family values. Vote for Don "The Pennsylvania Strangler" Sherwood.

    Arrow HBO documentary...

The HBO documentary, Hacking Democracy, comes on in 15 minutes. It's about the problems with electronic voting machines.

I understand Diebold pulled out all the stops trying to get it cancelled.
