Arrow OMG! I agree with Bill O'Reilly on something! (Update: Fox cancels O.J.!!!)

I guess it had to happen someday.

I agree with Mr. O'Reilly that his boss is a low-life, unethical, immoral scumbag who has finally reached "rock bottom" in his quest to drive "American culture" to its "lowest point ever!"

From The O'Reilly Factor:

"Rock bottom has arrived as O. J. Simpson is being paid to speculate about the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman — murders a civil court ruled he committed.

"As you may know, Simpson will reportedly receive $3.5 million to detail how he would have murdered the two Americans if he had did it.

"Since Nicole was the mother of his two children, the horror of this is evident to any decent person. But FOX TV and a publisher believe they can make money on the project, so it's on."

Who knew Bill-O had moral standards? Bill-O doesn't say so but "a publisher" happens to be ReganBooks, a division of HarperCollins, which is wholly owned by News Corp, the Rupert Murdoch conglomerate that owns Fox Broadcasting Company. So it's all in the family! The same Rupert Murdoch family that bailed Bill-O out of his falafel fantasy disaster to the tune of $10 million.

Poor Rupert. First his eldest son and former heir apparent, Lachlan, tells him to "take this job and shove it" and now his favorite gigantic talking head accuses him of being an unethical scumbag who is dragging the U.S. media through the gutter.

Bill-O, it's a little late in the game to start dissing your pimp!

Question Isn't it about time for the "Happy Holidays" boycotts again?

Remember last year when Bill-O was calling for a boycott of any stores that used the "Happy Holidays" phrase instead of "Merry Christmas" and then it turned out that his own Factor online store was advertising "Holiday Ornaments?" That was hilarious!

And Laura Bush called the White House tree a "Holiday Tree" instead of a Christmas tree? And she and the President wished us all "Happy Holidays?" Bill-O didn't say anything about that if I remember correctly.

And then News Corp sent out invitations to their company's "Holiday Party!"

Arrow Murdoch has decided to cancel his tasteless sweeps stunt:

Once enough people started calling for a boycott of ALL of Fox Broadcasting, Rupert Murdock saw the handwriting on the wall and decided it would be financially risky to proceed with his grotesque O.J. Simpson TV series and tell-all book.

O.J. Book, TV Special Are Canceled
Nov 20, 3:39 PM EST

The Associated Press
After a firestorm of criticism, News. Corp. said Monday that it has canceled the O.J. Simpson book and television special "If I Did It."

"I and senior management agree with the American public that this was an ill-considered project," said Rupert Murdoch, News Corp. chairman. "We are sorry for any pain that this has caused the families of Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown Simpson."

A dozen Fox affiliates had already said they would not air the two-part sweeps month special, planned for next week before publication of the book. It was being published by ReganBooks, a HarperCollins imprint owned, like the Fox network, by News Corp.

In the projects, Simpson speaks in hypothetical terms about how he would have committed the 1994 slayings of his ex-wife Nicole and her friend Goldman.

The industry trade publication Broadcasting & Cable editorialized against the show Monday, saying "Fox should cancel this evil sweeps stunt."

P.S. -- I wonder if O.J. got an advance? If so, I hope he cashed the check already.

He'll probably set up one of those 900 telephone numbers where you call in and he tells you how he did it, assuming he did it. They'll probably charge $1.99/minute and it will take as long as his Bronco chase scene.

I almost wish it had gone through... if no one had watched FOX during sweeps week, that would have been great!

Arrow Only "far left loons" and "kool-aid zombies" think Fox News had anything to do with..

...the O.J. Simpson project, according to Fox News resident moralist, Bill O'Reilly.

Bill-O attacked the “far left loons” who linked Fox News with the O.J. Simpson interview. According to Bill-O, these people are “kool-aid zombies” who are “doing the bidding of far left fanatics” who want “to tie Fox News in with the O.J. Simpson situation.”

But there are close ties between Fox News and the O.J. Simpson situation. According to a database search, Fox News referenced the Simpson affair as many times in the last five days as the other three leading cable news networks combined. According to TVEyes, there have been 417 references to Simpson between Nov. 15 - Nov. 20 (3:30 PM). During the same period, there were 414 references to Simpson on CNN, MSNBC, and Headline News.

In a really bizarre segment on Fox News last night, Laura Ingraham and a vacationing Bill-O claimed victory over the cancellation of the O.J. Simpson special. Bill-O repeated the lie that News Corp and Fox Broadcasting have "nothing to do with Fox News." That's obviously for the benefit of the morons who watch Fox News.

Bill-O has warned that upon his return, he will "list the enemies of Fox News" that "try to spin this" as anything other than a brazen act of Fox News independence and unbiased reporting. If Fox News is so independent, why was it promoting the O.J. Simpson special on Fox Broadcasting and the upcoming book published by News Corp's publishing house?

Should be an interesting News Corp "Holiday Party" next month!

P.S. -- No word on where Bill-O went for his vacation. I wonder if he was fulfilling his Caribbean fantasy? Does Fox still have that show, Temptation Island? Maybe he went there as a technical advisor?
