Arrow Guess how much avocado is in Kraft guacamole?

Guacamole should be almost all avocado, right? OK, if not 100% avocado, I guess 90% avocado might be acceptable in a pinch. How about you?

What do you think?

If somebody was trying to sell you guacamole and it had only 60% avocado, would you consider that a ripoff? I sure would!

What if it was only 50% avocado? You know, like some of the light margarines that are 50% water.

I think if it was less than 50% avocado, they shouldn't be able to call it guacamole. That's what I think!

How much avocado do you think is in Kraft guacamole?

Go ahead, take a wild guess.

Answer: here.

Maybe not but that's a different Kraft.

We're talking about the Kraft Foods Company, which is actually 88% owned by Philip Morris (now known as Altria Group). I'm surprised they don't add nicotine to it.

Hah? I was sure he owned Kraft Foods... I need to pay more attention to who owns what in big business before I open my big mouth...

Guacamole with 2% real avocado, brought to you by the makers of Cheez Whiz and Velveeta.

Hence why we always make our own at home. The green processed lard is not something my family or I care for.

Mike, pretty much any packaged or canned foods are grossly stuffed with things we shouldn't eat, or even try eating. There are more chemicals then real food in all of those things. I try not to think about it much because it gets me depressed.

Arrow People who like guacamole with just 2% real avocado...

...might also enjoy chocolate with zero cocoa butter!

The federal Food and Drug Administration is proposing to redefine the very essence of chocolate and to allow big manufacturers such as Hershey to sell a bar devoid of a key ingredient — cocoa butter.

P.S. -- I haven't eaten anything with the Hershey's name on it since I was a little kid. It's gross enough as it is now but they want to make it even grosser. I think they should let them do whatever they want but they should have to call it "chocolate flavored tofu."

As anyone from San Francisco will tell you, Ghiradelli makes the best American chocolate!
