    The Fast and the Furious

    OMG... this movie RULES!!!

Just got back from watching it. It riled me up like no movie ever has, but then again, I love racing. If you are a fan of racing (street expecially) then GO SEE THIS MOVIE. If you are a fan of the import scene, then you watched this movie today. ;) If not... SHAME SHAME SHAME, catch a matinee tomorrow.

The best part... the whole theatre was full of race fan who were WAAAAAAAAY into the movie... before and after, the parking lot was loaded with trick rides.

Do you already have tickets? If not, you may want to be at the theaters when they open. Around here, the movie was sold out for most times before the doors even opened. Everyone went last night and bought tickets for tonight, or ordered them online (like me ;)) and the last four showtimes were sold out before 11:30 this morn when the doors opened. Guess it depends on how big the street racing/import scene is in your area. Good luck, you'll love the show.

    Sleeper of the summer.

The movie only cost $ 30 Mil to make, but cleared $42 mil last weekend.

Universal actually will be making a profit on that one.
    Play well

WOW! THAT WAS AWESOME!!!!! i loved it and amazingly enough so did my girlfriend! i was just getting rid of my lead foot before tonight....now it got me wanting to test the waters a bit more and more my tbird can haul some serious tail......i topped her out at 117 its nuts to be driving that fast but sure does give you a heck of a thrill.....someone tell me how to get me a ride like that green car "brian" was driving.....absolutely an amazing car..... all of those cars were sweet except the stupid vw. i'm sorry but that car annoyed the heck out of me. to make a car look that good how much do you suppose that would cost fellas i know some of you are big car buffs......i know my car i dont know about custom drag racing rides like that. guesstimate if you would on what it'd cost to do something like that.....when im a rich feller i may have to drop some serious coin and get me a car like that.....attached is a picture i found on the net of my black beast she's fast enough for me let me tell ya

Well, it is really hard to nail down a price to that eclipse. You got the cost of the car.
By now you can get a '99 GST for about 16000
    Rims 2500
    Suspension 3000
Body kit 700-2500 (there are several different styles available. Brian's was a VIS kit)
Custom paint 2000-5000 (depending on what you want)
    Custom interior 3000
Custom audio system *baragin basement* 3000 - however much you have
    Exhaust system 600
Engine work (nos, turbo upgrades, internal engine work, bolt ons) about 10000
    fuzzy dice 4.99 (just kidding)
You get the idea! Sport compact cars are mad expensive, I wish I wasn't into it like I am, I would save a whole lot of money! I am saving right now for airbags (an adjustable suspension system) That is gonna be about 2400 installed:eek3: But I can't wait. I have posted a pic of my car in the thread titled "What are your other hobbies?" Anybody else out there in reefland into sport compacts?

Anyone ever wonder how much $$$ NOS musta put into that flick to have their product advertised about 20,000 times? Made it seem like NOS was the only way to have a quick ride........riiiiiiiiightttttt

Cool movie though....even though all the ricers came out that night in force, not to mention all the drags after the movie. The import thing is pretty big here in SF...and cops were out that evening like it was free donut night. Good thing they didn't find any 18 wheelers by the theater...LOL

Just went the other night and watched it again. This movie rules.

As far as NOS... there are definetely other, dare i say better, Nitrous kits out there... but bang for the buck, you cant beat juice. The movie wasn't really saying that the only way to go fast is nitrous, but it sure can help. All the cars were tricked waaaaay beyond juice. Juice is just icing on the cake. ;)

I saw the movie last night and it was d@mn cool. I like Vin Diesel (played the main dude Dominick).

anybody got any good links to some custom car sights? I wouldn't mind seeing what I could do with my new altima - hey, if they can trick out a jetta......

Awwww... c'mon... what's wrong with the Jetta. VW's provide a very strong platform for driveline modifications. I mean, you may not like the looks, but that doesn't matter when that Jetta smokes your arse and you're left making excuses to your girl or your buddies. "winning isn't everything... it's the only thing." ;)

Well, Jetta VR6's are kinda fast....

Yeah, NOS is ok (and Zex, Venom, yada yada yada any nitrous system)....I guess so....it is a cost efficient mod though, definitely when considering dollar per HP, but I prefer FI all the way ;)....just hope people learn about nitrous before they start blowing their rods and pistons out the side of their cars and shooting 'em into mine....BTW, local racer shop says inquiries about NOS systems increased since the flick came out..... we all had a good laugh....

Hmmm, what to do to an Altima? Those things are kinda torquey already....get a ball bearing turbo and set it to about 15 psi and get a fat (Starion) intercooler....that'll make your car VERY quick! It'll cost you though....much more than the reef tank......

cool - gives me a somewhere to start if I want to void my warranty!

BTW, have you guys seen the specs on next years Altima? They're cranking it up to ~240 - 250 horsepower!!!! I might have to trade up.

Movie was very cool - I'm suprised how many people still haven't heard about it.

i'm not doubting the fact that jettas can be fast but you hit it right on the nose when you mentioned the looks....i think after seeing that Mazda and the Supra i was spoiled so anything below that wouldnt have been good enough for me i'm going to see the movie again pretty soon i think....a bunch of my friends didnt see it yet so im gonna go again.....and i'm w/ you ravenmore vin diesel is pretty damn cool.....where have i seen him before? he looks very familiar. what could you do to a 94 t-bird? i'm keeping this car till the day i die so ive got plenty of time to start saving up tons and tons of money if i ever decided to tinker around w/ it any ideas?
