I was in the San Francisco Bread Company when I saw this happening on the news. Fox news showed the same overweight cops running with M4A1 rifles for an hour and a half. Apparently the guy was looking for his girlfriend and shot a dorm supervisor then went to a class and lined the students up and shot them one by one trying to find her. The gunman was killed but that's all I know.

P.S. -- I was going to say that two or three incidents like that per day, every day, and we would be just as safe as Iraq but that's not an accurate analogy because our population is more than ten times that of Iraq. So it would require twenty or thirty incidents like that per day, every day, for us to be just as safe as Iraq on a per capita basis.

We would have to lose 1,000 people per day, every day, to be just as safe as Iraq. Or just as safe as "Indiana in the summertime," take your pick. Rep. Pence of Indiana, who accompanied Walnuts! McCain on that little rug-buying excursion in Baghdad, said that Baghdad reminded him of "Indiana in the summertime."

In fact, it's not even the worst school massacre in U.S. history, but it is the worst school shooting.

The worst school massacre in U.S. history occurred in 1927 when Andrew Kehoe detonated explosives at a school in Bath, Michigan, killing 45 people and injuring 61.

Updated totals: 33 dead (including the shooter) and 26 wounded. Some are seriously wounded but all are reported to be in stable condition as of Tuesday morning. Only 12 remain hospitalized.

The shooter has been identified as a 23-yr-old VT senior whose family emigrated from South Korea 15 years ago when he was only 8 years old. It appears that he was acting alone. No motive has been announced.

NBC News in New York received a package today from Cho Seung-Hui, the guy who shot five dozen people at Virginia Tech, killing 32 of them.

It appears that he mailed this package during the two-hour gap between the killing of the first two people at the dorm and the killing of the rest of the students and faculty some two hours later.

The package reportedly contains a written 'manifesto' setting forth his perceived grievances, assorted photographs and a DVD of Cho reading the 'manifesto.'
