Twenty-something guy buys a 1956 T-Bird in 1974 for $1,500. It has very low mileage but needs some restoration work. Car gets stolen two years later in 1976 but it's recovered 31 years later in 2007. It still has only 24,979 miles on the clock but it has been restored. It's now worth maybe $20,000 or thereabouts.






Ronald Leung, whose '56 Thunderbird was stolen 31 years ago, sits behind the wheel of a 1964 Mercury Monterey that he is restoring for his son.

The "twenty-something guy" was a cop. He's now a 59-year-old retired cop and the proud owner of his new & improved 1956 T-Bird.
