I wasn't going to jump into this, but....
I'm one of those awfully thin skinned people who can be brought to tears by the way something was said. I AM THE OWNER OF THIS PROBLEM. My uncanny ability to misinterpret someone's words or tone is my own malady. I'm not asking anyone to tread lightly so as to avoid hurting my feelings. Like I said, it's my problem.

I have several ways of trying to deal with this problem. About 6 months ago, I thought someone threw a barb at me so I e-mailed the moderator and vented. That's all, just vented. The Blue Tuna was a wonderful help. He had me continue to follow the thread and see the humor in it. It was like having my big brother put his arm around me and say, It's OK, lots of people still love you. (Thanks, Tuna )

My first inclination of course, is to defend myself. But then everybody's scratching their head wondering how got she atop her soapbox?

And one time I even deleted a post I'd started when I felt it could get ugly quickly and I didn't have the time or the inclination to get on my detergent container.

Part of the problem with communicating via computer typing is that we can't see body language, facial expressions or hear tone of voice. (Thank goodness for the little smilie faces) Therefore, it's easier to misinterpret the intension of the writer and the statements. So, yes, let's try to choose our words carefully. People make mistakes. But they learn from those mistakes and are educated best when they are taught with caring and not angered and humiliated.

So, as one of only a handful of women on this BB, I give you my pacifist feelings on the subject, generated in my non-confrontational "girl brain".

BH,

Thanks for the insight.

I too deleted a thread once upon a time.

It was an apology to wgscott...I didn't want it used against me.

The deletions of entire threads has been addressed by a much higher level ...so REJOICE it should never be an issue again.

Speaking of resolution...lets get some closure

Yes, I am. If memory serves me, you invited me personally to "check out" that thread. Both Spasse and I replied to your thread. It seems rude to me to invite someone to "check out" your thread and then close it because you are not pleased with their response.

I created the thread for one reason....asking ppls opinion on FLAMERS!....NOT about other connecting threads...My post had NOTHING to do with Seahorses..

Really?

E-mail msg from Scubadude to Ninong 11:53 p.m., 6/26: Post: Get them Free!!
Did you just delete this post?

If you did I was just curious as to WHY?

And a follow-up e-mail msg from Scubadude to Ninong 6 minutes later at 11:59 p.m., 6/26: Check out the new post I just started in GENERAL discussions Topic: Flamers!

You were upset with the replies in the "Get them FREE!!!" Seahorse thread. You posted responses in that thread accusing the two young seahorsekeepers of posting flames that you would not tolerate.

The person who started the Seahorse thread decided to delete it. You asked me if I had deleted it and, if so, why. I replied that I didn't know what had happened to the thread.

Six minutes later you sent me an e-mail: "Check out the new post I just started in GENERAL discussions Topic: Flamers!"

It seemed to me at the time that there just might be a connection between your responses to the so-called flamers in the Seahorse thread and your new thread "Flamers" that was opened 6 minutes later in General Discussions, especially since it was in response to my e-mail telling you that I didn't know what happened to the Seahorse thread in which you were engaged in "lively discussion" with two teenagers.
