Any Apple/Mac users here?
Just curious how many users here have an apple computer, ipod, iphone etc. Heck, I have several different apple products (including iphone). I was contacted by a friend that is starting a forum for apple users. It is in the startup stage and I think there is less than 10 users right now. Check it out and give input on any posts you can. Heck, start a few if you want. All tips appreciated as hopefully he will get a good forum going.
Here it is if your interested. Coming Soon! |

Re: Any Apple/Mac users here?
I'm getting more interested in Macs. It's been a while since I've used one so I've been a pc guy by default, but as I get more into photography I'm looking toward Macs more.

bguile, you will love the Mac for photoshop, or Lightroom, or even just the program that comes with the iLife suite iPhoto. My Mac has been bulletproof for a year now, and hold over a Terabyte of storage and 3GB of RAM!

Re: Any Apple/Mac users here?
Yeah, that's what I'm hearing. They say that Photoshop is an entirely different beast on a Mac OS. I guess judging by the frequency that you throw pics up on the site it must be true!
It sounds like you've got quite a bit of data going there and a workhorse system to boot! what are you using anything for data redundancy and/or backup? I don't mean to hijack the thread so if this gets too interesting, I'll pm.

Re: Any Apple/Mac users here?
I have all my business stuff on a RAID mirror setup, and all my personal stuff on the OS drive, and then a 3rd drive for misc stuff. I would like my personal pictures to be on that 3rd drive, but OSX has so many COOL options using the "Pictures" folder that I am sticking with it.
Also, all my "finished" wedding or senior pictures get loaded up full resolution to SmugMug where they are kept on an off site server (actually 3) with UNLIMITED space for $99/yr. (Well worth it to me!) I am in LOVE with Apple now, and I don't see myself going back to Widoze anytime soon, especially once the new Mac OS comes out in October. Vista is microsofts way to catch up to OSX that is out now, once Jaguar comes out, Mr Gates will be playing catch up AGAIN!!! ![]() Apple stuff can seem pricey, but for the piece of mind it is 100% worth it to me! |
