    Straight Talk from Larry Craig

Larry Craig just won't shut up!

Mitch McConnell is gonna love this! Larry Craig is going to be on NBC in prime time tomorrow (8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central) for a full one-hour interview with Matt Lauer. Naturally Craig's wife will be with him to complete the charade.

    What can I say?

Who could ask for anything more?

OK, I could ask for something more! How about something new from Larry Flynt? We haven't heard a peep out of him since that presser with Wendy Cortez. The January issue of Hustler with the Cortez show and tell hits the newstands in exactly four weeks but Flynt hinted that there would be a lot of others besides just David Vitter and that Randy Tobias dude.

Now that MSP is paying $25,000 to lower the stall partitions in the Larry Craig Memorial Restroom to prevent wide-stanced Republicans from going astray, someone came up with a new sign:

Re: Closeted-gay Republican U.S. Senator busted for lewd conduct in men's room:

Still Not-Gay, so help me God!

Larry Craig is a victim! A victim of a vicious "profiler." These profilers roam the restrooms in busy airports looking for "innocent people" who may not be aware of the secret hand gestures and toe-tapping signals these profilers associate with "disorderly conduct."

From the extremely long interview with Matt Lauer in prime time on NBC yesterday:

"I now know that this cop, this officer, is a profiler. He said looking into a stall is part of it, and then a hand gesture or a foot tap is part of it. Now I know all about profiling. I know what people feel like when they're profiled, when innocent people get caught up in what I was caught in as an innocent person, it's very angering at times."

This is the worst performance I have seen since Pastor Ted Haggard spoke that memorable line, "What did you say his name was again?"

Re: Closeted-gay Republican U.S. Senator busted for lewd conduct in men's room:

This better be good because he has been hyping it for months now!

Larry Flynt, patriotic American and publisher of Hustler magazine, which I understand is noted for its many stimulating articles, appeared on FOX Business Network yesterday and told Neil Cavuto that he's "hoping to expose a bombshell" that will stand "Washington and the country on its head."

Within the next week or two, Flynt said his magazine will expose a sex scandal of huge proportions involving a prominent United States Senator. Flynt refused to comment on the Senator's political affiliation.

I wonder if that means the new sex scandal will be included in the January issue of Hustler that goes on sale November 13th? That issue will feature a photo spread on Sen. David Vitter's paramour, Wendy Cortez. I don't think there's anything she can say that we haven't already heard. And, besides, Vitter's old news now. His "family values" pals in the GOP gave him a "loud standing ovation" when he returned to the Senate after hiding out with his wife and kids for almost two weeks.

I can't imagine which United States Senator could be the star of this new "bombshell" that will stand "Washington and the country on its head." Could it be Mitch McConnell? Could it be Lindsey Graham? Could it possibly be Sam Brownback who just withdrew from the GOP presidential race a few days ago?

Of course, at this point, we don't even know if this will be a same-gender or opposite-gender sex scandal.

Re: Closeted-gay Republican U.S. Senator busted for lewd conduct in men's room:

Speaking of Miss McConnell, a Kentucky newspaper is accusing him of accepting bribes: Here.

He's been getting paid under the table for years by big defense contractors and the Chinese government. I'm surprised the MSM is bothering to report on this stuff.

I wonder if he's going to be Larry Flynt's big surprise that will "stand Washington and the country on its head?" He's married, so that's a plus if it is him, especially if it's a same-gender scandal. Lindsey Graham is not married and never has been, so I don't see how outing him can count as a scandal. I don't think Larry Flynt would look on that as a scandal at all, so that leads me to believe that the guy who is about to be exposed has to be a married Republican. It helps that they're always pontificating about "family values" and the "sanctity of marriage."

Arrow Another conservative lawmaker goes republican!

"I am not gay. I have not had sex with a guy."

" Detectives tell KREM 2 News at some point Thursday Curtis had a sexual encounter with a man, who police have not identified. A Spokane Police Dept. spokesperson says Curtis and the man were spotted at several locations across the city that evening.

"The next day, someone filed a police report alleging that Curtis was being extorted."

Washington State Rep. Richard Curtis, a Republican, represents the 18th District in Southwestern Washington.

Elected to the state House of Representatives in 2004, Curtis has voted like a fiscal and social conservative. This spring, he voted against domestic partnerships for gay and lesbian couples. Last year, he opposed a gay rights bill that banned discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. (Both bills passed and are now law because Democrats control the Washington state Legislature.)

As a member of the state gambling commission, Curtis has criticized gambling. He has opposed using state dollars to provide health care for illegal immigrant children, saying citizens and legal residents should come first.
He has earned generally low marks from Washington Conservation Voters, the abortion rights group NARAL and the AFL-CIO. The National Federation of Independent Business, a small-business group, gives him a perfect score.

Curtis’s online legislative biography says he owns a business that “provides instruction for advanced cardiac life support” at a Vancouver, Wash. hospital. It also says he is a fire captain and paramedic for the Vancouver Fire Department. A man who answered the phone at the department Sunday, however, said Curtis is no longer employed there.

The biography says he is an Air Force veteran and refers to him as a husband, father and former La Center city councilman. He is from New Mexico and moved to southwest Washington 11 years ago, the biography says.

    Another conservative lawmaker goes republican!

Richard Curtis, the GOP lawmaker who claims he is not gay, is going to have a very hard time explaining things to his wife, especially the part about wearing women's lingerie! :eek3:

Cody Castagna, the 26-year-old gay guy Rep. Curtis picked up at an adult video store, brought his camera cellphone along with him to the hotel room where he and the "family values" anti-gay Republican lawmaker engaged in sexual intercourse allegedly for $1,000. Rep. Curtis paid Castagna $200 and promised to give him the other $800 the next day, according to Castagna. In order to make sure Rep. Curtis kept his promise, Castagna kept Curtis' wallet and the cellphone with the photos of Curtis dressed in women's lingerie. Castagna may have said something about telling Mrs. Curtis about their sexual encounter if Curtis failed to pay the $800 balance. Castagna doesn't remember that part but Curtis does. Castagna says he made no threats, he just wanted to be paid the rest of the $1,000 Curtis offered him.

Republican Rep. Richard Curtis, happily married, not-gay "family values" conservative.

Cody Castagna, gay waiter and part-time "party boy" for closeted "family values" Republicans. [P.S. -- A Google search will reveal that the popular Spokane restaurant he "helps manage" is owned by his mother. He has also appeared in at least one gay adult video, which is now being linked in virtually every blog online since yesterday.]

It gets even better. Here are a few excerpts:

Court records indicate the Republican lawmaker dressed up in women's lingerie and met a Medical Lake man in a local erotic video store which led to consensual sex at a downtown hotel and a threat to expose Curtis' activities publicly.

A search warrant unsealed Tuesday morning disclosed that State Representative Richard Curtis (R - La Center) had sex in his room at the Davenport Tower with a man identified as Cody Castagna, 26, of Medical Lake, whom he met at the Hollywood Erotic Boutique on October 26.

The store clerk, who had talked with Curtis, referred to him as "The Cross-Dresser" and said that during their conversations he confirmed he was gay and married with children at home.

Curtis met Castagna at the Hollywood Erotic Boutique and made arrangements for him to come to his hotel room for the purpose of having sexual intercourse.

If you want to know exactly what sort of sexual intercourse, you can read it for yourself here. After the sexual intercourse, Curtis fell asleep. Castagna, according to court records, then allegedly took Curtis' wallet out of his jacket pocket and left the room. Around 7 a.m. he called Curtis and told him he knew he was a member of the Washington State House of Representatives and was married, that he had taken pictures of Curtis with a camera on his cellphone and he offered to return the wallet in exchange for $1,000.

Curtis contacted the police. The police then listened in on the next phone call during which Castagna not only demanded $800 for the return of the wallet but also said that the money would buy his silence, implying that without the money he would expose Curtis to his wife. Curtis admitted to police that if details of the incident became public he would have to tell his wife and would need to hire a divorce attorney.

Castagna now has an attorney and he is claiming that he did not blackmail Curtis. You can read his version of events here.

P.S -- When Curtis contacted the police, did he somehow think that this incident would not become public? Is he that stupid? And when the police asked him what happened, he told them everything.

Re: Closeted-gay Republican U.S. Senator busted for lewd conduct in men's room:

Wow! The actual police report on that Republican lawmaker in Washington state is even funnier that originally reported!

I guess the earlier articles were based on statements from the police about what was in the police report. Now that the actual entire police report has been made public, it's hilarious!

I don't see how conservative "family values" Republican Richard Curtis can maintain that he is "not gay" after what's in the police report.

He's "not gay" but he admitted having sexual intercourse with Cody Castagna.

He's "not gay" but he was wearing "women's clothing, red stockings and a black sequined top before engaging in a sex act in the store. He continued to wear them throughout the night under his clothing." OK, this is believable because a lot of straight guys (e.g., Rudy "Il Duce" Giuliani) like to dress up in women's clothing. So he could wear something like that and still not be gay but the "engaging in a sex act in the store" part sort of tilts the scale against him being "not gay." The sex act in the store was with another dude, not Cody Castagna.

Spokane police have finished their investigation and referred the case to the prosecutors for possible filing of extortion charges against Cody M. Castagna.

Curtis, 48, is married and has two daughters. The two-term legislator and retired fire department captain was in Spokane last week for a retreat with other Republican lawmakers in preparation for the 2008 Legislature.

According to the police report, Curtis allegedly offered to pay $1,000 to have unprotected anal sex with Castagna.

Curtis did not return phone calls seeking comment Tuesday afternoon. He initially told police that he did not have sex with the man but later recanted, according to the police report. He also told police that he thought he might have been given some type of drug because his memory of the evening is hazy.

Spokane Police Detective Tim Madsen wrote in his report that Curtis wanted to keep the whole incident quiet. At one point, Madsen told Curtis that "the toothpaste was already out of the tube."

"Curtis said he wished he would have just paid the additional money to the suspect because he didn't wish the case to be prosecuted. If the incident became public, it could cost him his marriage and his career."

Madsen, in his report, said Castagna told him that Curtis wouldn’t say what he did for a living.

“I work to help people out,” Curtis reportedly said, before adding, “If I told you, I’d have to kill you.”

According to the police report, Curtis contacted a friend, Sgt. Roy Rhine of the Washington State Patrol. Rhine is a fellow Republican who has run for the state Legislature. Curtis wanted his friend to investigate the alleged extortion attempt "because the local police would talk and it would get out to the press." The Washington State Patrol referred the case back to local officials.

The police report and court filings say that Curtis met Castagna at a Hollywood Erotic Boutique store at about 12:45 a.m. Friday and later rendezvoused at Curtis’ room at the Davenport Tower Hotel at about 3:35 a.m.

As part of their investigation, Spokane police have seized video recordings from the hotel and the sex shop, computerized records of when Curtis’ hotel room door was opened and closed, and hotel records purportedly showing the rental of gay porn movies by someone in Curtis’ room.

Castagna’s Myspace.com Web page indicates that he is gay. A search for Castagna in court records turned up a number of cases in Spokane and King County on a variety of charges. Most cases were in juvenile court and involved charges of assault, theft, burglary and malicious mischief.

As an adult, court records showed that Castagna pleaded guilty in 2001 to a forgery charge and was sentenced to two months in jail and 12 months in community custody.

P.S. -- If you're a closeted gay Republican, calling the authorities over an $800 payment dispute with your "boyfriend" is probably not a good idea. The divorce is going to cost a lot more than that!

Re: Closeted-gay Republican U.S. Senator busted for lewd conduct in men's room:

Full 15-page police report on Rep. Richard "Kinky but Not-Gay" Curtis

According to the police report, "Curtis stated he was the person who received the anal sex." While wearing red stockings and a black-sequined lingerie top.

What is it about closeted Republican politicos that makes that so singularly idiotic when it comes to trying to talk their way out of these situations? This guy is almost, but not quite, as bad as Larry Craig. At least he didn't drag his wife onto national teevee and force her to lie for him.

I'm still waiting on Larry Flynt to name the U.S. Senator who really shocked him. That should be good. It doesn't matter if the dude is gay or straight as long as he's married, a "family values" Republican and engaged in extramarital hanky-panky. Of course we don't know yet if this Senator is a Democrat or a Republican but I'm expecting a Republican.

GOP family values: Introducing Rep. Richard "Kinky but Not-Gay" Curtis

Boy, no wonder the Washington state TV stations are having a hard time covering this story without running the risk of an FCC obscenity fine!

Among the items recovered from Curtis' hotel room: "A stethoscope, lingerie, condoms, rope." These married, "familty values" conservative Republicans sure are into kink, aren't they?

From the police report: Cody stated Richard was a "freak." He said that Richard dressed in women's lingerie during sex. He said he used a condom and performed anal intercourse on Richard while they were in Richard's bed. After the sex act was completed, Richard told Cody he wanted to perform "bareback sex" on him.

Cody stated that bareback sex is unprotected anal intercourse. Richard wanted to perform anal intercourse on Cody and told him he did not like the feel of condoms. Cody told Richard that he did not do that, that he didn't know Richard and that "bareback sex" was unsafe sex and was dangerous. Richard asked Cody "what would it take for you to do it."

Republican Rep. Richard "Kinky but Not-Gay" Curtis has resigned!

According to the International Herald Tribune, based in Paris, Washington state Republican Rep. Richard Curtis has resigned from the Legislature.

It's nice to see the Europeans are enjoying the Republican Party's another-day, another-closet-case series.

CNN is giving the Richard Curtis caper national exposure...

CNN is having a field day with this latest GOP sex scandal. Here.

It gave them an excuse to bring up the Bob Allen and Larry Craig misadventures. Which reminds me, le scandale de la semaine for next week will be Bob "BJ" Allen, who goes to trial on Monday. That should make the RNC very happy.

P.S. -- On Nov. 13th the January issue of Hustler magazine will be released, so that will put David Vitter back in the news. And, on top of all that, Larry Flynt has promised to drop a "bombshell" sometime before the middle of November. I hope he times it for a slow news day so that it will be the lead story. Hey, wait a minute, if it's a sex scandal involving a United States Senator, it will be the lead story no matter what else is going on, even if we're bombing Iran at the time.

Sen. Larry "Not-Gay" Craig (R-Idaho) in the news again:

Larry Craig's attorneys are arguing that "hand signals" are constitutionally protected speech and that Sgt. Dave Karsnia could not have been offended by the alleged conduct because "he invited it."

Sen. Craig was just being friendly.
