Arrow August 29, 2005 -- a day that will live in infamy!

President Bush was down here yesterday and today celebrating his administration's response to Hurricane Katrina two years ago.

The storm hit at dawn on Monday. Bush didn't show up until Friday. Federal help didn't start arriving until Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.

Were there a lot of reef tanks down there that went down also? I've always wondered how large of a reef community was there!

I don't know exactly how many reef tanks were wiped out but 80% of New Orleans was underwater for weeks and the storm surge extended inland along the Mississippi Gulf Coast for about 10 miles. Most of the homes in Mississippi that were within a few blocks of the beach disappeared.

Video clip of the storm surge filling the lobby of the Holiday Inn hotel in Gulfport, MS. And this hotel is several feet above sea level.
