Re: Appalachian State?
They were saying that game was the 4th or 5th, that MSU had a lead in the 4th quarter, and lost, THIS YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't mind the three interceptions, but there were way too many penalties. The coaches have to do a better job on that. It would have been ridiculous if LSU had lost this game because they were clearly the better team but boy did they screw up a lot. Oh, well... It still counts as a win and right now it looks like Arizona State might lose tonight. If Arizona State were to go undefeated, they could knock LSU down a notch. I'm still hoping that Michigan upsets Ohio State. That would be sweet! ![]() P.S. -- Hey, Florida State is leading Boston College 7-0 right now. If BC could lose a game, that would be nice! LSU is not getting into the BCS championship game as long as both Ohio State and BC are undefeated.

Re: Appalachian State?
I'm all for Bobby beating BC, and of course I am onboard for a UM win over OSU!!!!
Oh, I agree, that shift play was idiotic!!! That may work with a disciplined, educated team, but not LSU!!! They seem to have major issues on and off the field with the LAW!One other thing.... 76 points against Nebraska!?!? WOW how they have fallen!!!! |

Re: Appalachian State?
A total of 115 points in that game. And Kansas is still unbeaten, so they should move up a few notches.

Re: Appalachian State?
Darn! BC just scored a TD, so they're only 3 points down with almost 7 minutes left.
P.S. -- Some clown on ABC is saying that if BC loses, LSU should stay No. 3 and Oregon should be the new No. 2.

Only one minute left in the game. I think BC is done!

Re: Appalachian State?
OK, BC lost to Florida State, 27-17. That probably makes LSU No. 2.

Re: Appalachian State?
I'd put Oregon at number 2 George, the Ducks are for REAL!!! If you are splitting hairs, and compare LSU's performance against Alabama to ORegons game, I think the voters (Human) may favor the Ducks.

Re: Appalachian State?

Re: Appalachian State?
I think it's quite possible that Oregon could end up No. 2 because LSU didn't look all that good against Alabama, but I agree with Charlie, it's more likely that LSU will be No. 2 and Oregon will be No. 3, with Oklahoma No. 4 and maybe West Virginia No. 5.
P.S. -- The computer is gonna like Kansas, so it just depends on what the humans do about Kansas. Kansas might be No. 5 but I don't think it will be placed above LSU, Oregon or Oklahoma by the humans. Don't forget, the computer went ape over South Florida and look where South Florida is now.

Re: Appalachian State?
I think that applies to Notre Dame's coach, too.

Re: Appalachian State?
I'll tell you something you probably already know, an LSU loss to Alabama would have been unacceptable down here. Period!
Even though they won, people down here are not happy with how close the game was and how sloppy LSU played -- three interceptions and 14 penalties. And the pass coverage sucked! And the kicking game sucked and the special teams sucked. Because of the Saban thing, people down here wanted to see a 20-point margin of victory. And had LSU actually lost, Les Miles would have been in serious trouble. The thinking down here is that he's not all that good and is just coasting with the talent Saban recruited based on Saban's reputation. Approximately 35,000 to 40,000 LSU fans made the trip to Alabama even though LSU had only 7,000 tickets to sell. Many of them were hoping to get tickets at the game at scalpers' prices and others just wanted to be there for the party after the game. Can you imagine the disappointment had LSU lost? LSU fans despise Nick Saban but they consider him the best LSU coach ever.

Re: Appalachian State?
I can't imagine what Tuscaloosa would have looked like if LSU had lost.
![]() ![]() ![]() I don't think Notre Dame is gonna can Charlie Weiss. I know what they did to the previous coach, but I think there were some underlying factors there that even they don't want to discuss in public. |

Re: Appalachian State?
I think Notre Dame, Nebraska, and UM will all have new coaches next year. Lloyd has done well turning the season around, but I think he will retire anyway.... Unless he wins against OSU, and then the bowl game too, then he may reconsider.

Re: Appalachian State?
I was watching the Saints-Jags game and all of a sudden a track meet broke out. Jacksonville just returned a kickoff 100 yards without being touched. It's now 17-17 in the first quarter.

At the end of the third quarter, it's Saints 38 and Jaguars 17. Drew Brees is 30 for 42, 398 yds, 3 TDs.

Re: Appalachian State?
The final score was Saints 41, Jaguars 24. Brees had a total of 445 passing yards.
And the Packers beat the Chiefs, 33-22. That one was looking scary for awhile. So far, so good! ![]()
