A good game tonight will be Hawaii against Boise State in Hawaii. (It's on ESPN2 at 8 p.m. CST.) A lot depends on how Colt Brennan is feeling. He was messed up pretty bad late in the game against Fresno State and he played only the first play of the game and the first play of the second half last week when they barely beat Nevada.

What about Brett Favre throwing for 20 straight completed passes yesterday at age 38?

Isn't it funny, they were saying he has kind of lost his arm earlier this year. I have a hunch tho that he and his team are in for it next Thursday, Dallas has one heck of a football team!!!

Hey, my Lie Downs are BACK BABY!!! I knew 6-2 was to good to be true!!! It was all a fluke.

I like Hawaii in that game, I have to pull for my other "Local" team.... I lived on Oahu for 6 months, when I was 10!!!

I have to agree with you that Dallas will probably win that one unless they're having an off day. On the other hand, I certainly hope Green Bay wins! It would be really nice if Brett made it all the way to the Super Bowl this year to make up for the past few years.

Of course, if he makes it all the way to the Super Bowl, he may never retire. The last two years he kept saying he was probably going to retire and then didn't.

I can tell you one thing, the people in Green Bay absolutely adore him. Last month, my brother-in-law went up there for a game with his son and daughter-in-law. They were having dinner in Brett's restaurant with Brett's mother and a group of about 36 family and friends. The dinner was being hosted by Brett's mother. When it came time for the waiter to bring the check (they always pay the full bill, them don't comp themselves), he informed Bonita that it had already been paid by another customer, including a very generous tip. We're talking about something in the neighborhood of two grand here! The other customer told the waiter he didn't want to be pointed out or identified, he just wanted the waiter to tell Brett's mother that he was a lifelong Packers fan and Brett had made him extremely happy this year.

My nephew is married to Brett's first cousin, so he and his wife usually go up to Green Bay once or twice a year to watch Brett play from Brett's luxury box. My nephew's wife's mother and Brett's mother are sisters.

I was kinda surprised that they did that poorly.

If Colt Brennan is at his best and his receivers are at their best, they will beat Boise State easily. On the other hand, Boise State could easily win this one if Brennan is not at his best. Whichever team wins will still have a shot at a BCS game, especially if it's Hawaii that wins.

P.S. -- Las Vegas has Hawaii favored by 5.

That would make a guy jealous!!! Well, here is to a day off and a ton of football to watch. Just got done watching the Islanders and the Bruins. Great game, Boston won 2-1. Hockey, football, coffee and a comfortable chair, can a person ask for anything more?

Haha! Arkansas fumbled the kickoff reception and LSU has the ball on the Arkansas 25.

Yeah, they are. I might have to take a turkey sandwich break, and kick back and watch for a while, huh?

Arkansas managed to hold them to just 3 points. Boy, it sure is nice weather today. Sunny and 56 F. I'm only about 40 miles from the stadium, so the weather there is pretty much the same as the weather here right now.

What I meant was that it was nice and cool for a change. I was getting tired of all that warm weather we've been having lately. Up until a couple of days ago, I was still running the air-conditioning 24/7.

Anyway, 56 is nice and cool. If it gets much cooler than that, it's cold!

Well, I am at home still no sign of the wife... I think the ATM will melt soon though if she stays out much longer!!! I have the 2 kids, and we are currently on the 3rd different STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE movie.... Boy life is good!

Oh, and I feel like CRAP, and sound a FROG! ARGH! Why is it I get sick on my days off?!!?
