Re: Appalachian State?

The talking heads of the sports shows are already calling for Lloyd Carr's head, can you believe it?

Re: Appalachian State?

YUP! I can, Lloyd has a tremendous amount of talent on his team, but UM can't beat OSU! He is 1-4 or 1-5 against them, ask the last OSU coach old whats-his-name about having better then .800 winning percentage, except against UM. He was CANNED!!!

I am not saying that Lloyd should be canned for not beating OSU, I can live with that. (They have been a REALLY good team lately.) What I am having issues with is the last 3 Bowl games, last years OSU loss (it was HUGE, and could be laid at the coaches feet.), and of course the A-State debacle.

I think he will be encouraged to RETIRE, soon, if not at the end of this year for sure.

Re: Appalachian State?

Do you think he would "retire" during the season??????? I don't think during the season would help, but then again there isn't anything left to lose, is there?

If he did, then one of the assistants would fill in anyway. (Not the best choice.) I can't BELIEVE that I actually agree with you in that there is not much left to lose only 1 game into the season!!!

The Rose bowl will be nice, but I really thought this team would MAYBE drop one game all year. I know the defense is suspect, but I mean really UM, just RELOADS usually, it is never a DOWN year on D....

Re: Appalachian State?

You know what is really scary? They could win out, and I don't think it would make a darn bit of difference.

Re: Appalachian State?

If they win out, AND do it convincingly (sp?) then MAYBE they can get back in it. Winning by 30 or more over Wisconsin, and then OSU would certainly help, especially if they both come in unbeaten.

Mike, I watched part of that Wisconsin- Wash. St. game. Wisconsin looked pretty freaking good.

Re: Appalachian State?

Yup, Wisconsin only lost to UM last year, and they have a habit of WINNING their bowl games too! Michigan plays Wisconsin then OSU for the last 2 games of the season, it is possible that both of them come in with either 1 loss or unbeaten. (I don't know if they play each other this year.) If Lloyd finds a way to beat what could be 2 TOP 5 teams in a row, that should but us back in contention. At this point though, with our Defense the way it is, that is a HUGE IF!!!!

Re: Appalachian State?

Let's find a new team to pick on, how bout Notre Dame

As I was workin away today listening to ESPN radio, I took the consensus vote to be that Lloyd will probably be around until at least the end of the season. That is unless he loses another one real quick. I don't think this weekend is gonna be a piece of cake either, isn't it Oregon State?

Worse! Oregon! Another MOBILE QB, and super fast recievers. These Ducks can really FLY!!!

You know I have been an Oregon Fan ever since Joey Harrington won the Orange Bowl... He was the MAN!!! If only he would have went to a team like Green Bay, or even Indy to watch and learn from a REAL NFL QB, I am convinced he would have been much better. Look at Steve Young, or even Jeff Garcia, neither of them would have been half as good as they were/are if it wasn't for Joe Montana! I'm not saying he would have unseated EITHER of those QB's, but Joey sure could have been productive somewhere after playing with either....

Schrocat-

I have to hear about the Gators from my cousin. She went there, so I really HAVE TO take the abuse, at least for now!

Is there such a thing as the Top 50? Because Michigan is definitely not in the Top 25.

AP Top 25 (Michigan has 39 points total. The No. 25 team has 195 points.)

Look on the bright side, as long as they win next week, they will move up.

Oops! 39-7

Look on the bright side, there's always Notre Dame next week. Can they beat Notre Dame?

P.S. -- At least it wasn't as bad as #9 Virginia Tech losing 48-7 to another team I never heard of.

Absolutely.
I think we only beat them by 13 points last year.
