Re: Appalachian State?
Eli is looking pretty good so far. The Patriots just took the lead, 7-3.
The commercials suck, as usual. The Pepsi commercial was goofy. Some shoe company just blew $90,000 a second on something. I don't even remember the name of the shoe. ($2.7 million per 30 second spot; $5.4 million per minute.) The Bridgestone tire commercial was kinda cute.

Re: Appalachian State?
Why did I know you would throw the super bowl into Mike's favorite thread.

Re: Appalachian State?
Those dancing Thriller lizards selling some brand of water I never heard of before were kinda cute, too.

Re: Appalachian State?
I think the Bud commercial with the Clydesdale and the dalmation is the leader so far.
Oh yeah, there's a football game on too. This is shaping up to be a pretty good game here!!! |

Re: Appalachian State?
You know you're getting old when you remember watching all of the teams in the Fox Sports "vote for the best football dynasty of the decade" poll:
1960's Packers 1970's Steelers 1980's 49ers 1990's Cowboys 2000's Patriots P.S. -- They forgot to include the Detroit Lions of the 1950's. Or the Baltimore Colts under Unitas.

Re: Appalachian State?
That game will go down as one of the best I have ever seen, congrats to NY Giants, they deserve it!!!!
The only team I have trouble remembering would be the 50's team. I remember the Pack, for sure |

Re: Appalachian State?
Archie Manning's sons are back-to-back Super Bowl MVP's. Talk about bragging rights!

That's a first, isn't it? I still can't get over that catch and throw by Manning and Tyree

Re: Appalachian State?
I'm pretty sure the Giants are the first wildcard team to ever win a Super Bowl.
Dept. of Corrections: The Giants are the first NFC wildcard team to win a Super Bowl. That feat has been accomplished by four AFC wildcard teams.

Re: Appalachian State?
I am pretty sure Bradshaw has at least 2 MVP trophies, don't know if they were back to back tho. Their defence may have gotten in between that.

Re: Appalachian State?
Yeah, you're right: Super Bowl XL.
Boy, was I wrong about wildcard teams winning the Super Bowl. This is the fifth time it has happened but the first time an NFC wildcard team has done it.

Re: Appalachian State?
Bradshaw was Super Bowl MVP in 1978 and 1979.

Re: Appalachian State?
Montana's three MVP awards were in 1981, 1984 and 1989. Both he and Bradshaw have four Super Bowl rings but Bradshaw has only two MVP trophies. Troy Aikman has three rings and one MVP award.
