Talking The house is Rice & Bean's... Joint line of credit, too!

Condi Rice owns a house with her "closest female friend"...

Condoleeza Rice owns a house with her very good friend, Randy Bean. They have a joint line of credit, too.

    Isn't that sweet.

Of course, the right-wing will probably be horrified to learn that Condi shares a house with a... LIBERAL.

P.S. -- I wonder what Daddy Dobson and Pat Robertson will think when they find out Condi has been carrying on a secret liberal relationship?

P.P.S. -- Red beans and rice?

Secretary Rice should have been more careful. Home ownership is a matter of public record and owning a home with an out liberal could trigger an investigation under the Bush Administration's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy, which prohibits out liberals from serving in the government.

P.S. -- Good thing she's not in the military. Lindsey Graham is in the military (Col., USAFR), but he's not telling.

    Condi For Veep

Some folks are urging Senator McCain to consider Condoleezza Rice for the VP spot on the ticket. I think that would be a great idea. Something to jazz up the internet rumor mill once again. In the same category, how about Charlie Crist or Lindsey Graham? Both have been mentioned.

A few people have suggested he name Bobby Jindal, Louisiana's new 36-year-old governor. Boy, would that be a riot! If you think McCain has a problem with anti-Catholic comments Pastor Hagee has made, wait till you get a load of the anti-Protestant statements Bobby Jindal included in an academic paper he wrote for a Catholic publication while still in college. Bobby said his comments do not apply to present-day Protestants, just the founding fathers. In essence, Bobby argued that there was no justification for the Reformation and that the early Protestant leaders were far from perfect.

And then there is that little exorcism incident. Bobby personally exorcized the devil from a female colleague while still in college. You can read all about it in Bobby's book. Bobby Jindal is a firm believer in demonic possession. Is that worse than Dennis Kucinich and the UFO?

And some folks are trying to imply that Barack Obama might not be a true Christian because his father was a non-practicing Muslim. His father left when little Barry was only two years old but, who knows, maybe he's still a secret Muslim, especially with a name like Barack Hussein Obama.

So how does this tie in with Bobby Jindal? Well, maybe Bobby Jindal is not a true Christian either because he was born into a Hindu family. A practicing Hindu family. Little Bobby was a practicing Hindu all the way up until the time in high school when he decided he wanted to pursue a career in politics and wisely decided to convert to the dominant religion in southern Louisiana, Roman Catholicism. And Bobby took care of the strange-sounding name problem early on by deciding that he wanted to be called "Bobby" instead of Piyush. Piyush Jindal is the name on his driver's license and that is his legal name but he goes by his nickname, "Bobby."

Will the right-wing of the GOP question Piyush Jindal's patriotism or his Christian faith if McCain names him as his running mate? They freaked out that one time a Hindu chaplain was asked to give the opening invocation in the House -- something about Hinduism not counting as a religion because they worship too many gods.

Trivia: Bobby Jindal lost the 2003 gubernatorial contest to Democrat Kathleen Babineaux Blanco by about four points. He noticed that he did particularly poorly in the northern half of the state -- the Baptist half. Beginning early in the 2007 campaign, Jindal began to "offer testimony" before Baptist and Pentecostal congregations in the northern half of the state. They really liked the part about him driving out the devil.

Bonus trivia: Like Bill Clinton, Bobby Jindal was a Rhodes Scholar.
