New Aquarium In s.f. visit..

Wel I went to that new aquarium the other day..Steinhart is much better althoguh this place was nice I went through the whole place in like 30-45 minutes and spent like $12.95 to go there..Its the place right next to pier 39..Now it was really cool they had a cool little setup for leopard sharks..Althoguh I like the leopard shark tank at marine world later..I would highly recomend going to the Steinhart Aquarium at the California Academy of Sciences if you were gonna go to s.f and check out fish places..The cool thing is they had a tunnel undcer the water and it was supposedly under the s.f. bay..Although it was a more of a controlled larger tank is anythign with and all species of fish and inverts were indigenious to the s.f. bay.. If your bored and don't mind wasting some money check it out..If not go to Steinhart..Dan

What about Underwater World on Pier 49 (or is it 39, I can never remember) in the city (San Francisco)?

Have you been there yet?

It's at Pier 39 and I believe that you and Bamm Bamm are talking about the same place. I was not impressed.

Anyway, if you've never been to Steinhart Aquarium, you should definitely check it out. http://www.calacademy.org/index.html

The nice thing about Steinhart is that it's part of the California Academy of Sciences, so there are lots of other things to see while you're there, which is especially nice if you have kids with you. (Admission is FREE the first Wednesday of every month.)

If I'm not mistaken, I believe SF voted a year or two back to spend tens of millions to completely re-do Steinhart but I can't seem to find anything on that lately???

That's hilarious!

I just added the exact same thing to my post above about two seconds before reading your post. Must be clairvoyant.

That's exactly when I go because I sometimes have as many as 8 kids with me (whatever fits in the Suburban).

We used to have a local Mafia boss when I was a kid growing up in Louisiana--Carlos Marcello. One of his daughters was in my class in high school.

I'm not sure if we have a Mafia Boss in the state anymore??? I don't think we can afford one.
