Homestead pricing update
Well I got the good news, bad news today from homestead. In my e-mail they said they were going to charge 30 bucks a year, and considering the cost of everything else in the world I guess it is not that bad. Not to mention the hassle of trying to find somewhere else to host my site and who is to say in 6 months they won't decide to charge? Also your site will remain fully functional till September the 30th. I guess it could have been much worse.

they announced a while back that their free sites were no longe economically feasable and that they would have to start charging. They do still have a free version, but it's greatly limited - nothing like what it is now. The $30/year price is a discounted rate for existing members. Not sure what it is for newbies. Not bad - $2.50 a month I can handle. I think they might be getting rid of the homestead banner for paying members (hopefully). Also, you get approx. 10mb more webspace than before.
