Exclamation There ought to be a law against stuff like this!

13-yr-old girl with bi-polar disorder commits suicide after...

...her new 16-yr-old online boyfriend dumps her, telling her he heard she's a slut, cruel to her friends and too fat.

The cute 16-yr-old boy did not exist. The MySpace account with the picture and profile of the cute boy named Josh was set up by the mother of a girl down the block who was a former friend of the child who committed suicide. She claims she did it in order to find out what this child might be saying online about her daughter.

The mother of the former friend pretended to be a 16-yr-old boy and she and her two teenage children carried on a phony romance with this vulnerable 13-yr-old pretending to be a cute 16-yr-old boy who was interested in her. This went on for six weeks until the evil mother, posing as the 16-yr-old boy, told her daughter's former friend that she heard she was a slut and didn't want to be friends with her anymore.

The jilted 13-yr-old girl, who suffers from depression and is a little overweight, hanged herself the next day.

    Here.

P.S. -- The mother of the former friend has admitted what she did but the police can't figure out how to charge her because they can't find any laws covering something like this.

Re: There ought to be a law against stuff like this!

NBC's Today show had a segment on this story. You can read a more detailed article on it on MSNBC.com which includes a brief video clip. (P.S. -- Actually the link in the first post takes you to this same article. Apparently they have updated it since yesterday.)

The local police have not charged the woman who perpetrated this evil hoax with any crime but it's possible that at the very least she is guilty of violating a federal law against internet harassment.
