Holy Crap! This Is Gonna Be Big!

The Democratic governor of New York has apparently been caught with his pants down, literally. He is expected to hold a press conference to admit that he has been identified by federal investigators as a client of a prostitution ring.

A person with knowledge of the governor’s role said he is one of the men identified as clients in court papers from a prostitution ring busted last week.

Will the media please, please ask Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) for his reaction to this outrageous conduct on the part of the Democratic governor of New York.

Please ask Vitter to comment. I'm waiting.

Apparently Client-9, discussed in detail here, is Gov. Eliot Spitzer!

Eliot Spitzer is very wealthy and could easily afford those outrageous hourly rates. At least it didn't cost the taxpayers anything, which is something you can't say for all of Rudy Giuliani's trips to the Hamptons to roll in the hay with Judy. Giuliani's security detail followed him to the Hamptons at taxpayer expense. And Giuliani provided Judy with her own police detail to take her shopping and accompany her on her dog-walking outings.

Seriously, I don't see how Spitzer can survive this if he is criminally charged with paying a prostitute. In David Vitter's case, he was never charged because the statute of limitations had run out and Vitter was careful not to admit to a crime, he confessed to a "serious sin" without saying exactly what it was. Come to think of it, they rarely prosecute the "customers," so maybe Spitzer won't be charged with anything. Either way, he's in deep, deep doo-doo right now. I wonder if Larry Flynt will pay Spitzer's "girlfriend" big bucks for a Hustler magazine spread?

P.S. -- At least the lieutenant governor of New York is a Democrat. Here in Louisiana we have a Republican governor and a Democratic lieutenant governor. And when Jerry Brown was the Democratic governor of California, his lieutenant governor, a clown named Mike Curb, was a Republican. Curb even appointed a rightwing judge to the bench while Brown was out of town. Brown removed the judge immediately after he returned to Sacramento. That sort of stuff used to happen all the time. Every time Brown went out of town (remember his African safari with Linda Ronstadt), Mike Curb would issue some stupid new executive order that Brown would have to rescind upon his return.

Lieutenant Governor David A. Paterson will probably be sworn in as governor within the next couple of hours.

Spitzer's Suspicious Money Transfers Led To Investigation

According to ABC News:

The federal investigation of a New York prostitution ring was triggered by Gov. Eliot Spitzer's suspicious money transfers, initially leading agents to believe Spitzer was hiding bribes, according to federal officials.

It was only months later that the IRS and the FBI determined that Spitzer wasn't hiding bribes but payments to a company called QAT, what prosecutors say is a prostitution operation operating under the name of the Emperors Club.


P.S. -- A couple of points to remember: We're apparently talking about tens of thousands of dollars paid to hookers over a period of several months. You can stick a fork in him, he's done.

The case started when banks noticed the frequent transfers from several accounts and filed suspicious activity reports with the Internal Revenue Service, the official said. The accounts were traced back to Spitzer, which led investigators to open an inquiry.

Spitzer's problem is that as attorney general, he prosecuted high-end call girl operations and made sanctimonious statements about the evils of such enterprises. Now he has been caught sleeping with the enemy.

Dr. Laura Schlessinger has never been one to shrink from controversy, and she leaped headlong into one on Monday when she said that if a husband cheats, his wife may share some of the blame.

Dr. Laura Schlessinger is not a psychologist, she's not a psychiatrist, she's not a pyschotherapist as claimed in her TV listing, she's a physiologist! Physiology has absolutely nothing to do with psychology. She's a rightwing crackpot and a fraud. When she had a TV show, before it was canceled, she had phony experts on as guests.

The woman is a joke but the rightwing loves her because of her outrageous positions. She's also famous for her beaver spread nude online photos that she posed for years ago. The woman has no credibility whatsoever but the media treats her as if she were some sort of authority on psychology. She's not. Her Ph.D. is in physiology, yet she's using the "Dr." title and claiming to be a psychotherapist. She's a physiologist who once took a marriage counseling class.

If she has some free time, maybe she can do something about her psychopathic son, Deryk, who is a disgrace to the uniform he wears.

Looks Like I Guessed Right On The Amount

With pressure mounting on Gov. Eliot Spitzer to resign over a call-girl scandal, investigators said Tuesday he was clearly a repeat customer who spent tens of thousands of dollars — perhaps as much as $80,000 — with the high-priced prostitution service over an extended period of time.

This is a sad story on so many levels. All of the good work that Spitzer did is now outweighed by his blatant hypocrisy. His patronage of very high-priced prostitutes goes back years, covering the same period of time when he was actively prosecuting the same prostitution rings that he was secretly patronizing.

He exposed a lot of corruption on Wall Street and in the major banks. Now it looks like the banks may have gotten even with him.

He still hasn't resigned. His resignation letter was all typed up and ready to be signed but now it looks like he may be changing his mind. I don't see any way that he can stay in office for the three years remaining on his term. He needs to leave now!

Gov. Eliot Spitzer is expected to resign for real today. Maybe. It will be effective next Monday, maybe.

Lt. Gov. David A. Paterson will be the next governor of New York, assuming Spitzer actually goes through with his resignation this time.

Spitzer Resigns Tomorrow, Vitter Remains in Senate

The Democratic governor of New York revealed last week that certain telephone calls he made to a prostitution ring have come back to haunt him and he will now resign his office in disgrace.

Just last year, Sen. David Vitter (R-LA), announced that certain telephone calls he made to a prostitution ring had come back to haunt him. Upon his return to Washington, he was greeted with "a loud, standing ovation from his Republican colleagues in the Senate."

Gov. Spitzer was a holier-than-thou moralizer who prosecuted high-priced prostitution rings while patronizing them for the past several years.

Sen. Vitter is a holier-than-thou moralizer who gave speeches about the "sanctity of marriage" while patronizing hookers.

Within an hour of Spitzer's revelation that he had a hooker problem, Republican leaders called for his resignation.

Within an hour of Vitter's revelation that he had a hooker problem, Republican leaders praised his honesty and integrity in coming forward and facing his problems head-on. They also expressed their sincere best wishes for Sen. Vitter and his lovely family during that difficult time.

A few days ago, a reporter managed to sneak in a question to Sen. Vitter during one of his regular "telephone town hall conferences." The reporter noted that Gov. Spitzer was being asked to resign because of a personal problem quite similar to Sen. Vitter's.

Reporter: "How do you respond to people who say that there’s a double standard at work here?"

Sen. Vitter: "I made a very serious mistake a long time ago, and I have to live with that every day. That’s not a flippant statement. I need to spend my whole life making up for that. Anybody who looks at the two cases will see that there is an enormous difference between the two of them. The people that are trying to draw comparisons to the two cases are people who've never agreed with me on important issues like immigration and other things."

"Enormous difference?" Vitter reportedly paid $300/hour to his hookers; Spitzer reportedly paid $4,300 for a couple hours in Room 871 with "Kristen," plus train tickets, cab fair, room service and the minibar. Wasn't it sweet of him to include the minibar? Yeah, I guess you could say that's an enormous difference, but if Vitter had Spitzer's money, think what he could have accomplished?

Eliot Spitzer Lacked Imagination Compared to This Guy

Max Mosley, president of the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile, F1's governing body, is facing intense pressure to resign from his post after being implicated in a Nazi role-playing orgy according to British tabloid News of the World.

The report detailed a five-hour "Nazi-style" orgy between Mosley and five prostitutes at a house in Chelsea. In a video on the newspaper's Web site, it shows a man identified as Mosley arriving at an apartment. The man is then greeted by a woman playing the role of a Nazi prison guard, checking his hair to see if he has been kept free of lice "at the other facility."

Later, another woman in mock death camp garb enters the video and the man said to be Mosley is heard speaking German.

At one point during the video, the man yells "she needs more of ze punishment!" while brandishing a leather strap over a woman's bottom before striking her with it and counting in German, as other women in Nazi-style uniforms look on.
