I don't know anything about nano reef tanks, but I am a licensed peace officer, I've been through pursuit driving school and FBI SWAT school, and I'm a stickler about grammar.

Well I guess that answers it thanks Ninong... well I don't think there is going to be a nano forum, I know that any question asked about nano's in the reef forum would be answered, I just thought Mark had a good idea for the new forum. Oh well. You know what they say... if you can't beat 'em join 'em... wait does that apply here?

on a completely different not I was wondering whatever happened to the moderators forum? And without one how can you guys discuss your tax raises and "LR" deals with the Columbians in a group without us commoners knowing about it? Is the reefland crime wave finally over?

The Moderators' forum is still there, but it only shows up on your monitor if you are an Administrator or a Moderator.

P.S. one thing I was wondering... I'll bring it up here because I'll forget it if I don't, why is it that the smiles appear at the end of the post instead of where there cursor is? or that flashing little line that makes words come out ? Just curious, is it a bug?

Here is something else to consider.

After having kept and set up reef tanks ranging from 5 to 500 gallons, I don’t believe that the fundamental techniques of husbandry are very much different between a “nano” and a larger tank.

To be sure, species section is affected, i.e. no one would advocate keeping a yellow tang in a 10-gallon reef…

But most of the common husbandry techniques are the same, regardless of how much water we are talking about.

Even DSB’s, Refugiums, etc. can be accommodated, with a little creativity.

I am personally an advocate of limiting the number of forums. From an administrators perspective, It is certainly easier to manage one big forum.

Finally, I certainly hope that “nanoreefers” are not scared away from the reef forum because of any perceived hostility towards the nanoreef concept.

You may want to visit AquaLink to check out how their new Nano Systems forum is coming along. It seems that there has been only one new thread opened in that forum in the past 8 days and that thread is simply a photo of someone's new nano tank setup. So it looks like it's not a supported idea there either.

As SPASSE and I have pointed out previously, all of the questions and issues involving nano tanks can be addressed in the Reef Aquariums forum where they will receive more exposure.
