Fifty-eight is rather young to die of a heart attack, isn't it? They were saying on teevee that Bob Dole has appeared on Meet the Press more than any other guest. Guess who's second? John McCain.

I don't think the McCain Campaign is all that thrilled with the news media concentrating on somebody dying of a heart attack at 58. McCain turns 72 in a couple of months.

Tim Russert is still dead. And NBC is still running tributes to him. This is really overdoing it.

Some in the media are beginning to realize that they went overboard with the coverage of the "Tim Russert Dies" story.

So that means that NBC and MSNBC (and maybe even CNN) will now devote at least three or four roundtable discussion forums to the topic of the media's coverage of this story and whether it was over the top or not. They will conclude that the coverage was appropriate because he was a television news journalist, just like them, and he deserved all of that non-stop coverage.

NBC News is still doing Tim Russert tribute segments. It's understandable that they would cover the funeral and then cover it again the following day, but this is ridiculous. They're still talking about Tim Russert two days after his funeral.
