This one's funny

Found this over on Reef Central. It's too funny

humor regarding guns...
Note: This is an exact replication of National Public Radio NPR) interview between a female broadcaster, and US Army General Reinwald who was about to sponsor a Boy Scout Troop visiting his military installation.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: So, General Reinwald, what things are you going to teach these young boys when they visit your base?"

GENERAL REINWALD: We're going to teach them climbing, canoeing, archery, and shooting."

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: "Shooting! That's a bit irresponsible, isn't it?"

GENERAL REINWALD: "I don't see why, they'll be properly supervised on the rifle range."

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: "Don't you admit that this is a terribly dangerous activity to be teaching children?"

GENERAL REINWALD: "I don't see how. We will be teaching them proper rifle discipline before they even touch a firearm. "

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: "But you're equipping them to become violent killers."

GENERAL REINWALD: "Well, you're equipped to be a prostitute, but you're not one, are you? "

The radio went silent and the interview ended.

The guy who ran the shooting range at my boy scout camp was probably the strictest person I ever encountered in my childhood. He also had similar social skills to this guy. I wonder if we are talking about the same guy? I think Nina Totenberg needs to go back to covering the traffic report.

I've never heard Nina Totenberg cover the traffic report, but I have heard some of her prejudices come through in other interviews. I think the general could have expressed his argument more eloquently, but Nina got what she deserved.

For the record, I have no idea if this was Nina Totenberg; I just find her extremely irritating. I have no idea if this interview ever took place. It is a rather unprofessional question to ask, and for all their right-wing liberal spin, NPR is usually more careful than that.

Now if they had NPR FISH TALK, we would all love them.

Well, just for the record, it's a total fabrication. I'm not saying that anyone reading this would actually believe it was true, but you never know.

I too find Nina Totenberg irritating, and it did sound like an interview in her style. But when you think about it, it's extremely unlikely that even if this interview did take place, it would ever find its way to the airwaves. All this stuff is pre-recorded, even late breaking world news.

Public Radio is very right-wing liberal, and it always amazes (and pleases) me when I hear a comentary with conservative or moderate ideas. That's something you'll never hear from Nina.
