Another Thing the Fundies Are Against

They're against President Obama being invited to speak and receive an honorary degree at the University of Notre Dame's commencement ceremony on May 17.

Catholics approve of the invitation, 50% to 28%. White evangelicals disapprove, 39% to 33%.

If you listen to CNN you would think that Catholics are strongly opposed to Obama speaking at Notre Dame. That's absurd! And the faculty and student body at Notre Dame strongly support the invitation. It's just a vocal minority that are opposed. Most of the Catholic bishops are opposed because they're following the official Vatican line. They say it's against their moral principles to allow someone who is pro-choice to speak at a Catholic institution. What a bunch of hypocrites! The Church is against torture and against the war in Iraq on moral principles yet they embraced George W. Bush with open arms. If the Vatican wants to rant and rave about somebody they can start with Fernando Lugo. Or how about Padre Alberto?

Domestic terrorist Randall Terry got ahold of a list of names and addresses of 50,000 Notre Dame alumni and he has his little terrorists-in-training mailing out anti-abortion letters to the Notre Dame alums asking them to write letters to the Vatican demanding that Notre Dame's president be fired. What a creep that guy is. After the courts ordered him to pay damages to the women's health clinics he had terrorized, he filed bankruptcy. Then he sent out letters to all of his followers asking for donations so that he could buy a $432,000 house. The Democrats tried to get an amendment to the bankruptcy bill in 2003 that would have prevented anyone from having judgments awarded by the courts for terrorism against women's health clinics dismissed in bankruptcy court but the Goppies refused to go along with it. The Goppies support terrorism against women's health clinics.

Randall Terry is the hypocrite who rants and raves about saving the unborn and saving traditional marriage and yet he dumped his first wife and kids and was accused by the court of not paying his "fair share of child support." The Catholic Church does not allow divorce either but that's not somthing Terry is interested in talking about. This is the douchebag who was down in Florida representing Terri Schiavo's parents, or so he claimed. His best friend and co-terrorist is now doing time for murdering a doctor. And I'm not talking about Eric Rudolph.

P.S. added May 6, 2009: I said "most" Catholic bishops are opposed to Obama speaking at Notre Dame but only 20% of U.S. Catholic bishops have spoken publicly on this issue. All of those who have expressed an opinion publicly have criticized Notre Dame's decision to invite President Obama. Maybe the other 80% support the decision???

Domestic terrorist Randall Terry was arrested last Friday at Notre Dame and Goppie lunatic Alan Keyes was arrested today. Yea!!!!!!!!!!!

Keyes is the guy the Goppies ran against Barack Obama for the U.S. Senate in 2004 after their original candidate, Jack Ryan, was forced to withdraw after it became known that one of the reasons his wife listed in her divorce petition for wanting out of their marriage was that he forced her to participate in sex orgies with strangers at swingers' clubs in several cities. Alan Keyes was the best they could do, I guess. He's also a perennial Goppie candidate for President.

Randall Terry, Alan Keyes and Jack Ryan all have one thing in common: they're all Roman Catholics. And Terry and Keyes have something else in common: both have publicly disowned one of their children for being gay.

I must have missed the fact that Randall Terry managed to get himself arrested already. Looks like Alan Keyes was jealous and just couldn't wait until May 17, the date of Obama's commencement address, to get his dumbass busted.

Now he and a couple dozen other fools pushing baby carriages with dolls covered in chicken blood fake blood have managed to get themselves arrested today. They notified Notre Dame yesterday of their intention to violate Notre Dame's policy of not allowing protests by any groups other than students of the university. Notre Dame notified them that they would be arrested. They trespassed on campus today pushing their bloody baby carriages and shouting their slogans about Obama being a baby-killer.

Notre Dame police warned them to disburse or face arrest. They said they wanted to be arrested. After being booked, they were offered the opportunity to be released on $250 bond but they refused. They want to remain in county jail. Hopefully they will be kept there at least until Monday morning. Maybe they'll go on a hunger strike? That would be cool.

I'm sorry to learn that Michele Bachmann wasn't one of the protesters. I can't believe she would want to miss such as batsh!t crazy event like this.

Sunday, May 17, President Obama will deliver the commencement address and receive an honorary degree from the University of Notre Dame whether the crazies like it or not. It's going to be a great day! I hope a couple hundred more of them show up on campus demanding to be arrested. Why should Randall Terry and Alan Keyes have all the fun?

One Way Or Another Carrie Prejean Is About To Be Ex-Miss California USA

Looks like the Miss California USA Organization is running out of patience waiting for NOM Spokesmodel Carrie Prejean to resign from her position as Miss California USA.

Keith Lewis and co-director Shanna Moakler have scheduled a live news conference for Monday morning in Beverly Hills to discuss whether Prejean will remain in her role. Lewis told The Associated Press Friday that he, Moakler and Prejean's representatives are close to a resolution in the issue.

The state pageant has been investigating whether the 21-year-old violated her contract by making public appearances with groups opposed to same-sex marriage and by failing to reveal that she had posed in her underwear as a teenager.

Lewis says the runner-up Miss California, Tami Farrell, will be at Monday's news conference, but he does not know if Prejean will attend.

There is no basis for online rumors that Prejean intends to show up wearing nothing but her lacy pink panties. That rumor was put out there just to make sure all of the TV networks covered the event live. Apparently she will get to keep the new boobies.

BTW, one of Carrie Prejean's Miss USA sponsors says Prejean send him a copy of one of the topless photos in January of this year asking if she was in good enough shape for the Miss USA contest. This guy says the notorious topless photos in the lacy pink panties were taken when she was an adult. That's also the claim of the website that first posted them online. They have refused to remove them even after receiving a letter from Prejean's attorney demanding that they be removed because she was only 17 when they were taken.

Carrie Prejean says she didn't know her boobs were exposed in those photos. She says she didn't pose for those shots, the ones with her nipples exposed like that. "It was a windy day and the photographer must have caught me in between poses when the wind blew my top open."

TMZ asks if the wind unbuttoned her top and how come her hair isn't blowing.

After getting the two co-directors of the Miss California USA Organization and Carrie Prejean in the same room so that they could scream at each other for two or three hours, everybody kissed and made up and all's well that ends well.

The Donald once again proved that he can milk the media like no one else in the history of mankind. His 30-minute press conference announcing that once again he is the kindest, most compassionate beauty-pageant owner ever proved beyond the shadow of a doubt that he is the greatest when it comes to getting free publicity. He was great! He even went on Larry King Live last night to set this whole thing up.

Carrie Prejean gets to keep her Miss California USA crown and the Miss California USA Organization gets to pretend they agree with that decision. And The Donald got half an hour of free publicity for his Miss Universe pageant.

Shanna Moakler Quits As Miss Calif USA Director

Former Miss USA Shanna Moakler resigned as co-executive director of the Miss California USA pageant on Wednesday after the parent organization's head honcho, Donald Trump, allowed controversial Miss California Carrie Prejean to keep her crown.

At a news conference Monday, Moakler had angrily accused Prejean of violating the contract she signed with pageant organizers by speaking out on behalf of organizations opposed to gay marriage and by failing to disclose she had posed nearly nude for racy photographs before entering the state pageant, which leads to the Miss USA and Miss Universe competitions.

But on Tuesday, Trump defended Prejean's statements that marriage should be exclusive to men and women, saying her position was similar to President Barack Obama's. Although he acknowledged the photos of Prejean (pronounced pray-ZHAN) were "risque," he said he didn't think they were bad enough to get her booted.

Moakler, the Miss USA of 1995, said she decided after the news conference to quit.

"I cannot with a clear conscience move forward supporting and promoting the Miss Universe Organization when I no longer believe in it...

Back on Topic: NOM's Zombie Ad

The NOM people have a brand new TV spot running in New Hampshire asking people to call Gov. Lynch to ask him to not sign New Hampshire's gay marriage bill. It's titled "I'm Confused" and features confused cute little kids this time instead of confused zombies.

Don't tell NOM but they're a little late to the party in New Hampshire. Gov. Lynch is going to sign the bill. It's a done deal. They can save their ad money for New York and California.

In New York, the bill passed the House easily and is now before the Senate. The Democratic votes are locked in. Four are solidly against and the rest are solidly for. NOM will have to work on the Republican swing votes. For the first time, the Republican leadership in the state Senate has agreed to let their members "vote their conscience" instead of forcing all of them to vote against.

Gov. Patterson thinks he has enough Republican votes to pass this. We'll see. It should be close either way. If it passes in New York, that will leave Rhode Island as the only state in the Northeast where gay marriage is still not legal.

This is going to drive the fundie wing of the Republican party bananas. Hopefully they will decide to make gay marriage and abortion their top campaign issues in 2012. This will divide the Republican party even more than it is right now and make it that much more difficult for them to capture independents.

The California Supreme Court is expected to rule soon on the legality of Prop. 8. Most people expect the court to affirm Prop. 8. It would be a real shocker if the court threw out Prop. 8. Assuming the court allows Prop. 8 to stand, the proponents of gay marriage will then have to decide whether they want to put a proposition to overturn it on the ballot in 2010 or 2012. By that time, all of the New England states (except Rhode Island) will have legalized gay marriage.

As expected, the California Supreme Court has upheld Proposition 8. The vote was 6-1 with all six Republicans on the court voting in the majority. The lone Democrat on the court, Justice Carlos Moreno, voted against.

The only thing that was in doubt was whether the court would allow the 18,000 gay marriages that have already been performed to stand. They did and the vote was unanimous. Most people expected this would be a close call. It wasn't.

Another thing the court made a point of saying they were not addressing in their decision was whether same-sex marriages performed in other states should be recognized in California.

There is no doubt that the question of whether the state's constitution should be amended again to overturn the effects of Prop. 8 will be put before the voters again. The only question is whether it will be on the ballot in 2010, 2012 or 2014. Prop. 8 passed with 52% of the vote. The majority of white voters voted against Prop. 8. Seventy percent of blacks and 53% of Hispanics voted for Prop. 8. If you break the white vote down along party lines, a very strong majority of Republicans voted for Prop. 8 and a strong majority of Democrats voted against it.

The question for supporters of gay marriage in California is whether 2010 is too soon to try again.

The Donald has changed his mind and fired Carrie Prejean as Miss California USA. In spite of her promises to live up to her contractual obligations, she continued to refuse to clear her outside engagements with the Miss California USA Organization and she continued to be a no-show at required Miss California USA appearances.

She and her NOM handlers will now claim that she was fired for her biblical view on marriage. The Donald couldn't care less what her views on marriage are, his only view on marriage is that you had better have a good pre-nup lawyer.

Miss Malibu, Tami Farrell, is the new Miss California USA. FOX News will be sending an ambush crew to her house this afternoon to ask her for her views on marriage.
