Apparently Jesus Would Approve of Torture

No surprise here: Pew Research Poll shows that regular churchgoers are more likely to approve of torture than those who seldom or never attend services. White evangelicals are the ones most likely to approve of torture. They're also the ones most likely to get a divorce. Imagine that?

They're also more likely to believe that the universe is 6,000 years old; but you're not supposed to laugh at them for that because it's one of their "deeply held religious beliefs."

Their opinions, no doubt, are influenced by their reading of selected passages from the Old Testament. Yep, you can justify just about anything if you look for it in that book.

The Moral Majority is neither.
