We have a cold system coming that is gonna drop the daytime highs in to the single digits for the next 4-5 days, the alert I got didn't say anything about a bunch of snow, but that usually goes without saying. High winds from the north, typical welcome to MT weather. Almost glad I am off work...........I hate working in this crap, getting to cold for the wonderful circulation that I have.

They would all die if it ever got that cold down here.

As you can see from our hourly forecast for Saturday and Sunday, the coldest it's supposed to get is 33 degrees.

Last year, when we got all that snow, I lost my power for 12 hours because of tree limbs falling on power lines. The trees down here aren't designed for snow. The snow stuck to the leaves and weighted down the branches too much for them to bear. And the roads, including the interstates, were closed for quite some time because there are no snow plows down here. If snow piles up on the roads, they simply close the roads until it melts. They put up barricades blocking the interstate entrances so that no one could enter.

From what I have seen, there isn't anything down where you are that is designed for snow. Sometimes I wonder about that up here?????
Around last New Years, we got 16" of snow in a 20 hour period, and if I didn't have 4 wheel drive, I wouldn't have gotten out of my driveway to take my ex to work. Come to think of it, maybe I should have made her walk??????

Alabama didn't just beat Florida, they CRUSHED Florida! And Nick Sabin thoroughly out-coached Urban Meyer. That wasn't close either.

Oh, well... Looks like it will almost certainly be Alabama vs. Texas in the BCS Championship game. The Texas - Nebraska game come on in a few minutes on ABC.



P.S. -- If Nebraska beats Texas, the BCS guys will all jump off a bridge.

Alabama deserved to win, they outplayed them in every way.

We got some snow in Dallas a couple of days ago also.

Not quite as rare of an event as in New Orleans but still nice to see.

But this is coming from someone that spent 42 years in Denver…

Yes, snow is very rare down here and that's the way I like it. I just wish we didn't have the awful humidity in the summertime.

We're forecast to be in the high 70's with overnight lows in the mid-60's starting tomorrow, so I guess our chances of snow are diminished for the time being.

Were it not for some questionable last minute penalties, your wish might have geen granted. Texas needed a lot of help to win that game. They tried very hard to lose it but the officials didn't want that to happen -- especialy in Texas -- so they gave them every opportunity to pull it out at the last minute.

Colt McCoy can say anything he wants but he screwed up royally with clock management on that last play of the game. They should have called a run to the center of the field to see if they could gain a few yards. They were already in field-goal range for Hunter Lawrence. If they wanted to throw a pass, it should have been a short one, not a long bomb with that little time left on the clock. It's a miracle the ball hit the ground with one second left. It was probably more like half a second.

Maybe they should send the kickers from both teams to a bowl game and send the rest of the guys home?

Colt McCoy and Tim Tebow both removed themselves from Heisman contention with their last games of the season. And Texas might just possibly have removed themselves from the BCS title game. It all depends on whether people can forget about that last miserable performance and think about all their other outstanding wins.

I just double-checked the BCS rankings and prior to this game, Texas was sitting on .928 with TCU at .869 and Cincinnati at .855, so I doubt that TCU or Cincinnati can overtake them even if the coaches drop Texas down a spot or two. The computer will still rank Texas above both of those teams based on previous performance and strength of schedule.

Texas will have to be a lot better than they were against Nebraska to stand up to Alabama. Either that or we're going to have the most one-sided BCS championship game in history.

Just like the good ole days with Jose Canseco. He was always being ticketed for speeding or for having a gun on campus that you could plainly see on the floor mat of his car just by looking through the window. The idiot had a gun in plain sight on the floor of the driver's side of his car when it was parked on a college campus and one of the campus police guys must have been looking through the glass just out of curiosity and saw the gun. Busted!

Jose was also the guy who trashed his wife's BMW 850 by ramming it with his Porsche because he was mad at her.
